There are still “reviewers” making these claims in 2024

Mhm and are these reviewers in the room with us now OP?

  2. At 85° every CPU ever made will still reach its full clock speed

Congratulations you won your own made up argument

Not only, redditors too, about CPU and GPU.
Also “it’s pretty silent, as I don’t hear it through my headphones” folks always made me to laugh

This is a weird meme… I have a 5800x3d and a 4080, and the card has a modest oc. Neither even gets near 80C unless I’m stress testing.

There isn’t really a cpu in the market today that won’t keep decent temps with a big aio on it. Whenever these reviewers test cpus, they always throw a FAT cooler on it, to eliminate the bottleneck…..

anyone that doesn’t mention throttling in a laptop review should be shunned

85??? My highest is like 72…

    Nhd15 rise!

  9. Some one could do a meme for my RX 7900 XTX.
“Excellent cooling, never exceeding 48ºC under Heavy Load”
“Hotspot temperature 96ºC during hot days”.

I am yet to apply TPM7950 to try to solve this problem.

OP has drawn his nonexistent opponents as a soyjack, thus winning the argument

85 is on the hotter side of thing, especially for a pc. My pc doesn’t exceed 70c on cpu or gpu even when stress testing.

  12. FoxyWoxy7035

Not sure if this is a laptop meme, but it is extrememly relevant to them.

Why would a CPU throttle at 85?

    You okay dog?

    WHO’S LIKING THESE POSTS?

  14. BlackCatFurry

My parts aren’t apparently good enough for this to happen, because on normal clocks and quiet fan curves, my 3060ti never exceeds 70C and my r7 5800x3d never exceeds 80C. My gpu is a 2 fan msi ventus and my cpu cooler is a few generations old 280mm corsair aio.

If you got the temp lower at stock max clock, then you can just crank the clock til it gets to regular temps again right?

As heat increases, electrical noise increases and the chips can no longer process signals from it was my understanding.

    >20% of the boost clock

You mean the normal unboosted clock?

  17. WillFart4F00D

u/georgioslambros why dont you go ahead and tell us who? This seems like some weird projection

This must be some Intel shit, my 7800X3D rarely goes above 65c running raytraced games at 4096×2160 without upscaling 🤷

If this is about GPUs, my 4080 usually stays below 40 lol
