They’ve always been on the menu if you need lots of storage and you’re using them on a network file server.
For me I’ve switched over to 8TB SSDs because space in the SFF case for my server is limited.
Back on the menu…. meanwhile me with 73 TB in HDDs appreciating that I didn’t need to spend $6000+ on it.
EDIT: I completely forgot about the connection since we’re quite limited in capacity per slot. So rather $7000+.
Thats a lot of porn.
I’ll never trust Toshiba drives after they shit the bed in half of my offices laptops over a 2 year period a couple years ago.
At this point I don’t even look at $ per TB but TB per Watt.
