Back in the WaW days you could break the game by putting down too many bouncing betty’s and in Bo1 you could break the game by putting down too many claymores. I’d rather not crash my game with something silly like too many mines.

Not to mention the trip mines just plain SUCK

I think that’s just a design decision for the sake of balance. (There can be more than 2 mines planted at the same time when playing multiplayer)

It’s so funny to me how garbage trip mines are on BO3. Not only do they limit you at 2 placed on the map, the radius is so jank you basically can’t make a safe spot with them and even if you could, their explosion is so goddamn jank that they barely ever kill, or damage anything.
Like betties and claymores were never amazing but at least it felt like they could save you from time to time, without mentioning the claymore glitch. But they really went out of their way to make trip mines as awful as possible in BO3 lmfao.
