Yep, definitely feeling this with my Ryzen 3900x at the moment haha.

Been using the bottleneck calculator recently and it varies from game to game for me apparently. Helldivers 2? CPU bottle neck. Starship Troopers: Terran Command? GPU.

  3. If it wasn’t a CPU bottleneck, you’d have a GPU bottleneck. People put way too much thought into this. You will always have a bottleneck depending on the game and resolution you run.

Bottleneck was real with 7700k + Cyberpunk, crow density high.

Anyone that plays star citizen knows the pain

I’m still running with an i5-6400 and a 1080ti. The cpu bottleneck is real when playing skyrim vr with an 800+ wabbajack modlist

for the love of god stop believing the “bottleneck calculators” they’re full of shit.

It’s funny, plenty of games max out my GPU usage, don’t think I’ve really seen a game max out my CPU usage.

RX 6600 + i7-11700 @4.90 GHz, by the way. (Or that’s the GHz it’s advertised at anyways. Never personally seen it go above 4.4 GHz)

  9. Bottleneck calculators? That must be new as I haven’t heard of that until now from the comments.

The only real bottleneck the average gamer needs to worry about is their storage speed and RAM.

    Someone buying a 7800x3d probably isn’t buying a gtx 1030 or a RTX 3050.

The easiest way to tell a bottleneck without a calculator, don’t spend wildly between components, which is what people have been doing for decades.

Imagine using a calculator to determine best performance between parts, and not giving yourself headroom for upgrades down the road. Peak consumerism for PC building.

Me when my ryzen 5 4500 sees 5 different smoke grenades go up at once in cs2
