After picking some Johnny’s clothes in game (it’s genius writing – literally “walking someone’s shoes”) I’ve also realised that the game is about the questions – what if you could see the impact of your actions after you’re gone? Would you be proud of yourself seeing how the world remembered you and how much of your ideals you fought for are still alive after your death?

Yeah, this was my first impression of the game also. A while ago, a bunch of doctors misdiagnosed me with a neurodegenerative disorder. I was shitting bricks constantly until we decided to get another opinion. So the game hit me quite hard when I played through the story. Would have been nice to see an ending where things worked out alright without the need to sacrifice your relationships, though, but I get what they were going for.

I actually wish the relic was more of end game. Not the whole game.
If it’s terminal illness then why the fuck is V wasting time doing work for the ncpd?
Or anything other than strictly focusing on getting right?
Wasting time with peralez, river, and judy who in the end provide NOTHING towards V goals of getting better?
The red and blue pull should of been a bigger part of the gameplay. Hell throw a timer on the screen. Anything to actually add a sense of urgency. The game is too scripted in this sense. The random coughing of blood doesn’t make sense. He’s not bleeding internally. And if so then why would Johnny taking over the body stop that? Doesn’t make sense. Alot of the story doesnt make sense.
I love the game but getting the relic after some more build up would , to me, make the game better.

I’m actually having this experience right now, kinda. I’ve been fighting an unknown neurological disorder for over a year now and after months and months of tests we may have found something. This game took on a whole new meaning as I’ve started to come to grips with my current reality and staring down the barrel of brain surgery. I’m not terminal but being told my brain is basically melting is not a great place to be. And suddenness of V’s “oh shit I’m crashing hard” puking moments really add to how unknown things can be. Somedays I feel like I did 2 years ago. Then without warning I’ll just be a mess for days at a time.
