Street kid feels like the canon start and makes the most sense to me. Corpo feels like the least likely to be canon, but is the most interesting and interactive. Nomad has the best start and a surprisingly great car, but is the least interesting.

Corpo is my favorite for a few reasons:
1. It is such a huge shift in lifestyle for V, and gives him/her a strong reason to have a grudge against Arasaka.
2. Corpo gives the most life path dialogue choices throughout the campaign.
3. Regardless of ending choice, the Corpo life path makes a great juxtaposition
4. The Corpo life path reminds me a lot of the start of the Shadowrun novel Never Deal With a Dragon, and Sam Verner’s transition from a sheltered Renraku employee to the life of a Shadowrunner. It’s one of my favorite cyberpunk books.

Most characters just pretty much ignore the street kid knowledge lol like ok cool. You know the six street gangs are all about patriotism. I’m just working for them for the Ed’s man

I prefer Street Kid. The start just feels fitting for the rest of the game moving forward

every time I start a new run through, I tell myself I’ll do something other than female corpo netgunner, but somehow I always end up as a female corpo netgunner.
I finally started a male streetkid a few days ago with the goal for a sandy blade built, but the corpo lifepath and comments, I miss them so much 🙁

Nomad is always my go to. I like getting the car back later in the game, and it definitely makes everything make more sense in the beginning.

While I saw this opinion on this sub many times, I didn’t actually see “corpo playthrough above all” activists anywhere TBH.
Personally I like it, but I think that nomad fits the main game the most. (with streetkid I miss existing contacts in night city; and corpo – who is supposed to be ARasaka intelligence second in command – sometimes feels dumb to forget what he learned at Arasaka regarding planning and analysis. None of these problems exist with the nomad, who is supposed to have no contacts and no experience in planning)

Like yes, most dialogue choices but apart from that, virtually nothing to play before, then that entire line is also just “You a Corp, not anymore” and it all just went way too quick, with way too little explanation. Just suddenly everything goes by, with nothing. Jackie is also just… there for some reason.
In theory, it does sound like the best one to me but the way it’s been executed, at least to me it always feels straight up worse than the other 2 choices in every aspect

I like for a commentary of our world. V is on top, only to be ripped down. They try to make a name for themselves under this system and again has to deal with the consequences of Arasaka trying to do their shit(corporate meddling, cresting immortality, etc..). If you choose the star ending, They realize the only way to be happy is to say screw and leave that shit hole and forge their own life. Pretty beautiful ending imo.
