This is after probably 2 or 3 years, PSU was on its way out, nicotine combined with cat hair and spiders webs, let's just say I charged extra for this. The guy even tried to get out his hoover…
Does the side being stop this? No, but it helps by a country mile, ideally you want mesh filters on your intake vents that are easy to remove and clean.
Literally the worst I've ever seen, the blades on those fans are meant to be white.

Very little to do with smoking, certainly nothing to do with “nicotine”. I’ve smoked for over 20 years, right next to my PC, for *many* hours per day. I’ve never had a PC look like this, not even a plex server that was running for around 8 years without being cleaned.
Vaping however…I vaped for 2 years and my PC and many other surfaces were a wreck!
This is just generic hair and dust.

I like weed. My first PC I used to rip the bong right next to it while gaming. Did that for five years. My rig didn’t look this bad, but it was enough that I decided no more smoking by the PC.

Seeing what smoking does to the inside of a house, or in this case a PC, is disgusting and very concerning. I helped clean up a house of a heavy smoker who passed away and he smoked in the house. It’s enough to make you not want to ever smoke.

While everyone has suggested not smoking, I’m going to say for anyone who smokes or doesn’t, having an air purifier next to your computer is a great idea. It’ll keep your device clean, you won’t get as much dust in your peripherals, and you might be surprised by what the filters will catch after a week of plugging it in and forgetting it’s there.
