Plus side: Data is more secure even for those who are less tech savvy especially on new installs.
Cons: is a forced action which frankly should never be compulsory on an end user (non enterprise) OS that is already paid for. Along those lines, unless the user is guided through the setup of it, data loss is an extremely high outcome.
Side note: not sure if an encrypted drive is slower to access than a non encrypted one, game loading as an example.

Out of all the reasons to get up in arms about Windows, this isn’t it. Blame the lowest common denominators in the population if you want, but Windows had to do it because people cry when their unencrypted data gets stolen.

This is a good change, anyone who is semi-informed will tell you secure by default should be the standard. If you don’t like Bitlocker you can disable it quite easily.

I’m even over the TPM requirement since basically all modern mobos have one built in now.
Plenty to bitch about, but this def ain’t one of my complaints, especially as many commenters are pointing out, it’s optional.

I recently upgraded my pc but kept my old hdd as a hard for other stuff and bought a small ssd for the new c drive
I got all my other shit from the old hdd but the previously c drive was fucked
I could open it but i wouldnt show anything in the programfiles or other areas
A quick format fixed that but it was weird as for why i couldnt acess the data i had on my Drive C
