I made you guys a free Bubble Shooter game – More info in comments

Just a simple bubble shooter game like in the good old flash games days.
No ads, no iAP, no nag screens, should work on any device.
Play here

Very open for suggestions for how I can make the game better?

It’s a great game. I would love to able to swap balls if you get color that doesn’t help you. I like the pace of the balls moving down.

This is such a good and fun game. I wonder what it was made with? 👀

I Iike it more when you have many colors and a number of shots where you can eliminate a color. It’s really satisfying when you eliminate a color. Still very nice work.

  4. I love that you’ve done this! I’ve been a huge fan of Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-Move games for a very long time, and I’m glad to see a free, no-nonsense version available for browser!

Since you asked for suggestions, here’s some:

    – I think the pachinko-style scoring system is *super* cool, but as-is, it make scoring feel a bit too random. The angle/direction of your shots seems to have no impact on the direction the balls fall once broken off the stack, so you don’t really have any control over what rough zone the balls will fall into. On top of that, it doesn’t seem like you get any initial score based on the amount of balls you break off a chain. I personally think this should be implemented, because at the moment your score is (almost) completely random. Implementing more realistic physics that reward players for attempting to make shots at specific angles which throw balls towards higher-scoring zones might be a bit too difficult to code into a project like this? But adding a base score multiplier based on the size of your broken chain seems like it’d be simpler.

    – While I enjoy the physics-based ball falling when popping a chain, I do think the visuals of the balls that have been broken free could be adjusted to not make them so visually intrusive. Most games in this broad genre either don’t have a constantly-falling ball block, so waiting a moment for the screen to clear itself of visual clutter isn’t an issue, *or* they remove the popped bubbles in a subtle or more immediate way, such as having them just disappear. As mentioned, I like the falling physics you have implemented here, but maybe making the popped falling bubbles transparent or something would help a bit?

    – As another user mentioned, a Hold function akin to something like Tetris would be a very interesting addition.

    – Not sure if it’s possible, but a way to confine the cursor to the play area would be nice. Many times I wanted to bank a shot off the wall, only for the click to not work because my cursor was outside of the play area.
