I think most of us seem to have forgotten what all zombies had the most

I don’t think anyone would disagree with this? Hell, even BO4 didn’t get the appropriate dev time because of cut funding during BO4’s life cycle (I say this even as someone who enjoyed BO4).

No, my main gripe with CW is it completely and utterly removed the challenge associated with high rounding. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that casual players can feel the buzz, but it’s not the same. Knowing how to manage your resources to push through to the next round and beyond is absent from Cold War. But that doesn’t make it a game that’s not fun.

And yes, in BO3 you could feel the challenge in the game despite there being two new systems introduced into the game (Gobblegums and AATs). But both required knowledge of how to optimize them to push into the higher rounds because Zombie health and total zombie count still grew exponentially, just like BO1 and BO2. Hell you could turn it into an extremely challenging game simply by not using Gobblegums or double packing a weapon.

Maybe a hot take, but even if CW was given a full dev cycle, it wasn’t gonna be the next BO3 for a lot of people on here. A lot of the gripes just aren’t gonna go away, because these are intentional changes, for better or for worse. The use of operators over a set crew is an intentional choice made to incentivize MTX sales, and that’s highly unlikely to change, even with the next game. The reuse of campaign/MP/WZ assets is also not going to go away, except maybe they’ll do a bit more to hide the blatant recycling with the extra dev time.

If they had dropped Chronicles 2 on CW and it wasn’t still just a pump drive I feel there’d be more love for CW. I recon Tranzit would have played so well on CW’s engine.
