Because you know what you’re doing and have a very powerful weapon. I always try to beat him with blunt weapons and he can be annoying because his attack timing is awkward. CDPR should’ve gave him knockdown immunity.

I’m guessing you’ve noticed, but this is not exactly a hard game in general
Earlchaos
Try it as a Netrunner on very hard, not fun at all 🙂

pre 2.0 katanas attacked much more slowly and Oda could keep up with that. Honestly they should try patching Oda a bit to give him more knock back resistance or something because he is kinda sad right now.
He also just seems kinda broken. I‘ve only fought him once post 2.0 and I remember he bugged out and stopped moving after I shot him with some tech weapons.

cyberpunk isnt a hard game

Holy shit level 43? I usually beat him under 30 if I ever want a challenge
Like17Badgers
if you catch Oda and he’s not allowed to run around and do his little gimmick the fight gets substantially easier. He’s a very squishy man and relies on his fight’s gimmick to be a threat.
I was doing a Nehan/Satori build on my 2.0 run and even just applying a bleed so you can track him while he’s invis makes the fight a cakewalk.
Voodron
Yeah boss fights are unfortunately quite undertuned in this game. Oda and Smasher (especially the latter) should actually be challenging on higher difficulties.
It makes no sense for random cyberpsychos to be way harder encounters compared to these two. I get that they’re optional while Oda and Smasher are main story bosses, but still…

It’s just post 2.0 berserk is broken, way stronger than sandevistan or deck builds, especially considering it’s completely brainless, you just hit e and go full caveman mode. I have tried both netrunning and melee/berserk builds on very hard, one after another, and while both are fun, it’s night and day in terms of difficulty

He kicked my netrunner ass like 9 times.
Kenshi8Vibes
He was a bitch with just guns.
BreadBoxin
I beat the breaks off of him with gorilla arms. He should have quit while he was ahead at the meeting with Takemura. Also, Hanako’s security was really shit lol.

If you’re on PC, try the enemies of night city mod. Makes the game tougher. Still not hard, but more challenging.
pichael289
I’ve fought him at all levels at all stages of the games progression (release, 1.5, 2.0, ect) and he’s never been that hard. Netrunner was the hardest because he runs off and hides but I used the cameras to spot him and upload hacks.
The worst most hardest boss in the game is Sasquatch, easily. With a netrunner build on very hard I just couldn’t do it. Had to sneak past her.
No_Leadership_6240
You are kinda high level, shit gets easy with higher levels and good gear lol

So, anyway… I started blasting…

i’ve found that boss fights are not very difficult in this game.

“I’m playing the most broken OP build that literally gives me the super speed of the flash using one of the most broke ass weapons while being max level and I just curb-stomped a boss with a notable weakness to my build. Why is he so easy?”
I dunno man, it’s a mystery
CaptainBloodstone
Fuck why didn’t I did this? All my previous playthroughs were netrunners. This playthrough I finally tried the katana sandy combo. Playing on very hard I did indeed had a hard time killing him.

If you are on pc I highly recommend enemies of night city mod. Oda fight with mantis blade at level 60 with everything maxed was 10 straight minutes of adrenaline. Have a small clip on my profile as well to go and check

Yes, Sandy and Netrunner builds clown the entire game.
It’s always been like this sadly.

I remember really struggling with him in some of the earlier patches, but I think I was also a pretty low level at the time. I took a break from the game and during my current playthrough, I decided to put off that mission until I did some side content and leveled up. Maybe I waited too long though because I went at him at maybe lvl 50 and he was no more difficult than any of the cyberpsycho fights, which is to say not very difficult.
Maybe they rebalanced the game a bit or maybe my V was just too OP by the time I finally got around to fighting him again, but yeah it was surprisingly easy this time

I wish games had specific dialogue for the boss when you are way more powerful than them.

Use mods like enemies of night city and other popular combat mods. Makes the game exponentially harder and better, if you’re into that stuff.

This thread made me realize that as long as you’re level 50+, you’re unstoppable lol

Oda has not been rebalanced for quite some time.
Geeekaaay
They didn’t rebalance enemies with the 2.0 skill update, so many, many, many encounters become trivial very quickly.
