You can go to settings and disable updates for up to a month. I do this whenever I leave town so I can access my desktop remotely.

Never had this issue as I always turn off my pc

A normal update takes less than five minutes, including reboot. Just install them when they pop up, don’t keep postponing.
As someone who has worked IT as a windows admin, people who refuse to install their updates in a timely fashion are the exact reason they *have to* be forced eventually.

That’s a skill issue on the user. There are many ways to stop your computer from updating.
