I don’t believe Cyberpunk died at launch. It had a stable 10k average playerbase since launch on PC. It fell off hard after launch, but it was never really dead imo. Especially for a singleplayer game. It’s lowest steam player count was like 8.8k average players. Even FO76 never really died after launch. It hovered around 7-8k average players after launch. Which is crazy cause it was hated with a capital H. For reference, Suicide Squad at it’s peak had 2.7k average players after launch, and the last couple months barely averages 500 players. That’s dead.
But yeah, both got a major kick in the pants due to a show. Cyberpunk went up like 315% after Edgerunners. And 76 went up 280%. But that doesn’t include people buying and playing New Vegas, FO3, and 4. The show is really good. I like Fallout more than I liked Edgerunners. Wish we got more time with Edgerunners’ characters.

damn, how I wish F76 was purely singleplayer as well, I just can’t get into that game’s systems at all, I love the map and the whole vibe of it, but those are not enough to keep me playing :/

I mean you can use fallout 76 as a joke, but the show doesn’t JUST revolve around 76. And the rest of the fallout games definitely were not dead at launch and still aren’t.

Neither of those games died at launch.

As someone who played 76 for the first few years of it’s lifespan and still keeps up with the updates and such, I don’t think the show is really gonna revitalize this game in the way edgerunners did for Cyberpunk. Reason being, Fallout 76 is just objectively a very bland game with not a whole lot there beyond the main story plot. It can be fun with friends for awhile, but it gets stale very quickly.

Cyberpunk did not die at launch what a weird false narrative

I really liked 76’s beta and first hours.
Having players swarming every event, every boss like locusts was kinda funny. It’s supposed to be in teams of 4 and instead you’d have 20 people clearing a building in 3min

Oh does this mean 76’s servers don’t crash all the time now?
