Cyberpunk definitionally (high tech, low life) only exists because of the opposite. The entire concept is based on capitalist exploitation taken to its logical end point simultaneously to technology advancing to incredibly sophisticated levels.
I thought the patent on insulin was open to the world after the 3 scientists that invented it sold the patent for $1 to the University of Toronto in 1923 no? So what are they reverse engineering? Just look up the details.
