So I’m not sure how many people have noticed this already, (if you played the game semi-regularly before the 2.0 patch then you probably did) but the radio in this game is completely broken. After 2.0, same 4-5 songs play on repeat, songs almost always start from the beginning when switching to a different station, and the radio hosts are missing. Only the newly added Growl FM seems to still have an actual host you can consistently listen to, so obviously they broke something in the game’s radio loop in 2.0 and didn’t even realize. The newly added radioport is buggy too, it starts to play by itself at certain times while it should be muted.
The television segments are broken as well. Ever since 2.12 N54 and WNS are dead silent, they have no audio. I have no idea how CDPR managed to break the goddamn TV in the game and not notice it, it seriously baffles me.
I’m hoping these will be fixed with the inevitable fsr 3 patch, but honestly I’m not holding my breath. I considered going back to 1.63 but after experiencing the gameplay improvements that were introduced after 2.0 first hand, I just can’t. I love playing this game and it’s genuinely way more fun to play than it used to be, but I really wish they would actually playtest these patches before releasing them.
Edit: A lot of people are telling me to turn on copyrighted music. That feature was the first thing I turned on when I started my playthrough. The radio hosts are still only present between songs and the only thing they do is just say the name of the station that I'm listening to, and then disappear again. I haven't heard a single lore related segment on the radio apart from DJ Grey complaining about the concept of fate every 30 minutes or so on Growl Fm.
I've also looked into the TV problem a bit more, and coincidentally found a modder talking about the missing radio hosts on Steam, apparently skipping ahead to phantom liberty when starting a new game makes the radio hosts appear as frequently as they are supposed to, here's what they have to say about the topic

Hard agree. The radio stations need to be running in real time, even when the player is not listening. GTA has had this sorted for 20+ years. Doesn’t seem like a hard ask for CDPR to do radio stations properly.

Yep, i have the self radio and skip radio mod, i have 100+ songs in there and the radio only plays 10 of them even if i skip them they just repeat themselves

And the ads on the streets are loud as can be, especially when there’s six screens on one post (And that Sinnerman mission, when we enter the restaurant… ARGH!)). At least you can brake them, and they stay broken… broken… the game… stays broken. It’s even written on the walls… BROKEN…
We need to be able to make our own playlists!!! Mixing songs from different stations. That would be elite.
I thought I was imagining this had changed but you are right. Also since 2.0 sometimes I switch stations and get no music at all (PS5). Don’t hear a lot of the music that I used to like driving around to. Don’t get how they manage to mess this up in the process of fixing other stuff. Also, personally I don’t find the gameplay that much better or the skills tree making any more real sense than before. I loved the game at 1.6 and I still love it now, but another thing they changed is a lower resolution in performance mode on PS5 and I don’t know if this is the reason but playing the game hurts my eyes more than previously.

There’s a setting to turn off copyrighted music, it was turned on. I toggled that, and got music and Maximum Mike back.
I have close to 200 hrs in the game and I always have the radio muted/turned off. But I have never had a moment where it played by itself.
Also, don’t watch the tv cos I find it really boring personally.
I got the game when the 2.0 patch was made and have no complaints.
I’m with you inre the radio and TV bugs, and songs always starting from the beginning. One thing though, is that Morro Rock Radio also has a host, though he seems to come on at random(though only when on foot, so not entirely random).

On my replay, I’m noticing the complete lack of a score. Many scenes of the game are just silent. Which may be a stylistic choice, but after coming off of a recent Fallout 4 playthrough which has an incredible score, it’s a little disappointing. Maybe that’s just me, but music has a huge part of setting the mood of a game.
We also need a talk-radio parody akin to Blaine County Radio or WCTR in gta v. That shit is so funny to listen to
There’s a mod you can install for the broken audio on the TV’s, can’t say I’ve noticed much difference radio wise though.
Now that you’ve mentioned it, I can’t remember hearing any other DJ’s talking on any other stations but Sasha on GrowlFM.
The great thing about this is that I can see all of these fixed with a mod. Everything is there, i think it’s just a broken code.

I also do not like the player being on by default. Nothing like getting out to do a stealth mission and *I Really Want to Stay at Your House* is blaring and following you around.

I don’t get whg we can just choose whatever song we want to play instead of connecting to a damn radio, does cyberpunk not have spotify like apps in its time?

My only problem with the radioport is when it keeps turning off in certain areas if when it shouldn’t, I’ll be in the most open area ever and it just keeps turning off or cutting out
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one noticing it. Also, there was this issue where two songs playing over each other when you drive around, which I had to turn off and turn on the radio.

Is CDPR just supposed to go run up to a tv after every code tweak to see if it still plays sound?

It does feel that when you get in car 90% of the songs are the same every time.
Isn’t there a setting that allows your radio to continue even if its off? And another to turn off copyrighted music? Or am I misunderstanding your problem?
What? None of that is true except the starting from the beginning, I’m no defender of the game I just think it’s okay but this is blatantly wrong I kinda wish the radio would play less songs cause I only like like half of them.
That being said, the radio’s existence itself seems immersion breaking to me. Maybe it’s because I’m in my twenties and never lived in a time where I could drive but also didn’t have every song I’ve ever heard downloaded to my phone, but every time I use the radio I think “it’s 2077 and no one’s invented a fucking iPod? Why can’t I choose the songs I want to hear”
Like I don’t think I’ve ever used a radio I’ve only heard it from my parents using it and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a standalone radio outside of movies and video games
