Yet they do this with mario on rocket league…

  2. OkOrange1670

Honestly impressive to see how tight their stranglehold is on their IPs

    Introducing “Seamus”

He’s an Irish guy wearing similar armor.

  4. Merciless972

Same thing happened with marvel ultimate alliance. They had a Samus playable and everything.

    This is good Nintendo.

Suing emulator devs and then charging people for your emulator which runs the game worse, with a fraction of the selection, is not.

Honestly kind of a shame. Being in Fortnite would be good marketing for the Metroid series, which could use some help in that department

  7. They should have a character slot called Console Special that appears differently depending on what system you are using. Nintendo players would see Samus. Sony would see Crash, Xbox would see Master Chief, Steam Deck would see Gabe.

Why is this such big news that it’s being posted on every single Nintendo subreddit 10 times a day?

Remember when the Nintendo version of third party games had first party characters like Mario and Luigi in NBA street on GameCube but not the other versions. Link in soul calibur was a great one too. I miss that way of doing console exclusives

Appearance in a different franchise is a PR move. Nintendo doesn’t need to PR their game characters like other studios or publishers – their games sell regardless of that.

Idk this kinda sounds like a win, nintendo values their characters integrity, can you imagine how little the effect of metroid prime 2 would have after playing fortnight with the emotes and other stuff. Idk, I’m glad in this instance that nintendo is holding their ips close. To me fortnite looks like a lot of nonsense/fun, so doesn’t fit the serious tone of Nintendo’s heroine. Poor girl doesn’t get a chance to party always out there saving planets and fighting space pirates

Nintendo still hasn’t been taken over by MBAs. The nemesis of quality

  13. Unless they were gonna do Zero Suit Samus I don’t understand how the model would hold an assault rifle with the arm cannon.

  14. MisterSlosh

Coming soon to Fortnite; Samuel Arron , the Legally Distinct hunter of bounties!

  15. nutbutterguy

Nintendo sucks the life out of any room.

  16. joshthor

Nintendo hates people having fun in any way they don’t tightly control.

  17. Turbulent-Armadillo9

Yes, smart of Nintendo not to get free advertising of the Metroid Series. Introducing Samus to a younger audience doesn’t make any sense. Imagine people playing as Samus and using neat special abilities in Fortnight. Doesn’t make any sense.

  18. Healfezza

    This is the Nintendo MO.

Might be slightly shortsighted though, penetrating their brand into Fortnight could actually be a wise move as advertising effectively.

  19. Honestly this is great, I will never stop losing respect for companies that just give their character rights to Fortnite literally for them to ruin and tarnish their image.

Good on Nintendo and fuck Fortnite.

Nintendo would have been fine with it if it was a Nintendo exclusive but that’s not what Fortnite wanted. Nintendo doesn’t want their IP on anything but Nintendo devices. They have always held this stance so it shouldn’t be a surprise. It’s not like they need the money.
