doesnt really matter if its canon or not
Honestly would just take the show as doing its own thing. Doubt a later game will care much about it; canon has always been a bit flexible with the games.
Besides at this point we will be lucky to get another fallout rpg with any kind of decent story development … or npcs and dialogue trees. I’ll be happy enough to get any fallout that has been 76th’d.
as a show, without the prior fervor of the fans it is a decent scifi show, and standalone is decent. 😀

I don’t care either because I knew Amazon would fuck it up, because they fucked up everything.
If the biggest issue with the show is some things not bein Canon or ret conning things then it’s pretty fuckin good. Quit crying nerds.
They didn’t change the lore or retcon anything
FNV fans have this way easier than how they messed up 4’s timeline.
The fall of Shady Sands and the bombing of it could hypothetically be two separate events.
However it is explicitly stated in Vault 111 the cryopods are prototypes. And the show would have me believe that Vault-Tech management would freeze themselves in untested equipment??? Not a chance
I mean, I’d be down with them not nuking sources of content because it’d be fun seeing different communities.. but without seeing what they have planned, it’s hard to judge. I thought the teaser was fun tbh
Only real complaint I have with the next season is I assume because he’s in the flashback Mr house is gonna be alive which is disappointing to me because I kill him every time although maybe he’s dead and kyle maclachlan just thinks hes alive and he and the other people running the factions will just be fleshed out in flashbacks.
Remember if you step outside into the real world none of this controversy exists.

Considering what other shows have done to the source material (halo, the Witcher) I think a few incorrect dates here and there is not that big of a deal.
I wish Josh Sawyer and John Gonzales were making a new fallout.
We’ll get flashbacks of the city in it’s heyday in season 2 I’d hope

I’ve pretty much decided to treat the show that it is not canon. I know Todd Howard says it is…but my head canon says it is not. And as none of the games really affect any of the others, in that they are all their own self contained stories, I think that will work for me.
That way I can enjoy the show as it is without worrying about the rest of the franchise.
I try not to give a fuck about things I have no control over either.
Not all decisions will be agreed on by everyone, but some of it is just pretty silly. We knew the NCR was limping along in New Vegas and was buckling under it’s own weight, but to act like the NCR wouldn’t collapse from having it’s capital nuked is silly.
Not to mention we don’t know the true state of New Vegas.
So does it matter?
For me it really doesn’t as it’s hard enough to make a show that decently follows the timeline.
Think for a first time outing they did a good job.
Ngl but I feel people are freaking out too early about this. The makers did the fallout IP justice with the show. them going out of their way to make NV a central theme in the show means they obviously wanna create a story around the place. and having seen the show I feel its in good hands.
I for one hope the canon of my favorite fictional universes remains exactly the same forever and nothing challenging or interesting will ever happen within them.
