I shelled out the money for their highest “quality” headset. The black shark v2 pro. 2 months later the plastic is already cracking on the joints, and Razer is declining a warranty ticket.
Years of recommending products to friends, purchasing from them, and the first time I need support this is how I’m treated. Steer clear of Razer my friends, it’s only a matter of time before you get fucked as well.

I’m with op, got a barracuda and the plastic on the ear hinge broke. Razer is mum on this entirely, they need to get better manufacturing and QA on the headsets.
Gonna be honest, you can buy high quality headphones like the Audio Technica M50X and just add a mod mic or something, and they’ll last a longer time.

The absolute only things Razer do well are mice and mats. Everything else is hot, steamy shite.
I’ve been having a good time with their products and software, never caused me any trouble.
Never actually used any of their products always been on the Logitech side of things
Get some good ole DT770 32/80ohms and a Clip-on mic.
Sound in and out will be better than any gaming Headset out there, they last for fuckin ever (unless you get a pair with the fault left driver, that happens but is covered) and cam be found for 100-150 bucks.
Alternatively, the hyper X cloud is surprisingly good for the price.
Razer is just branding at this point. The quality just ain’t it.
So honestly, don’t worry, see if you can get a refund or warranty case opened and look for a proper alternative.
Got a friend who swears by them but everything he has that’s razor keeps breaking. Personally, I’ll never touch them.

I got some used beats for 5 bucks with a crack that i super glued lol. You want longevity get sennheiser or audio technica.
Ive been rocking sennheiser momentum (the original not the lane af bluetooth garbage they replaced it with) over ear ivory since i think 2014-2015. Just a few months ago was able to get replacement pads on amazon. Probably on 3rd cable lol. Replaceable cable is a must! I love them!! Still going strong!
I slowly shifted away from Razer over the years since I found some of the products were just not worth it.
Keyboard – Deathstalker V1, lasted quite long, software was okay at the time (each update made it worse), but since it was membrane over the years it sounded and felt worse until a dome collapsed, after going mechanical I could never touch membrane again.
Mouse -Deathstalker – big fucking mouse with a crapload of buttons, I used it in fps games (lol), and honestly it was solid, after years though I had an issue where it would only go left/right, unsure if it was a sensor issue or maybe just needed some deep cleaning. Moved onto logitech then steelseries mouse.
Headset -Krakens – had 2 pairs, the first pair were just krakens, they were fine but then randomly the mic would go to shit and not work, I ended up getting 7.1s later on and giving my brother the old pair where they worked fine.
I currently use the 7.1s for work since they are cozy but have an annoying hiss due to the lighting.
But for gaming I have a proper setup with dt 770’s
Mousepad – Sphex v1, was a sticky thin mousepad you slapped on your desk, was smallish and worked fine, but eventually it developed some build up from my skin and washing it off was a pain.
I replaced my Blacksharks because the wireless could reach about arms length away from my PC so I figured why wouldnt I just get nice wired ones and I did. Razer is overpriced garbage.
I’ve had 3 different razer headset models, all were shit in one way or another. I’ve given up on gaming headsets and I use some ATH-M50x, I’ve had the same pair for 4 years now and only had to replace the pads once.
Their mice tho, I’ve used Deathadder mouses for over a decade now. I’ve had to buy 2 of them, first one broke a year and a half ago.
TBH I have the Razer Nari headset and I love it. When I was looking I saw the very flimsy connection to the headband on the blackshark and steered clear.
Hey OP, I just noticed Drop is still selling the PC37x’s for like $100.
I’ve seen them on sale slightly cheaper over the years, but for an excellent headset that’s still a pretty great price.

Honestly, the only Razor product I might still buy is a mousepad.

Yea I don’t ever recommend Razer based audio to anyone. Wireless wise under 150, I dont recommend much though. Maybe a Arctis Nova 7P, I think Corsair had a decently rated wireless.
Mouse and keyboards is all I’ll buy from them. I’ve never owned a worse headset till I bought a Razer headset.
Razer’s warranty support has always been mid, it sucks they are jerking you around like this. You might be able to go through your retailer, or just do as so many others do and go the return fraud route through amazon.
I do love that headset though, I’ve been using the v2 for years and have several for home and work, the only one that broke was through the charging port when it dropped off my desk while being plugged in. That being said, mine were all black and different plastics have different properties.
I left because their software sucks!
Have a set of Razer Elektra v2s that I used for a couple years. They were fantastic and they still work. The ear pieces have begun to peel and flake, and upon research razer made no effort to upkeep or maintain parts for them. That and their software kinda taught me what I needed to know about Razer.
Bought a $30 stand mic from walmart and a $400 set of Meze 99s. My music listening and games experience went up considerably, mic quality is probably better honestly, and even tho they were expensive, Meze builds with ridiculously high quality stuff and sells replacement parts for cheap. These should last me a damn long time.
The more electronics I buy the more I realize name brand means jack, they can make as equally garbage stuff as cheap knockoffs
weird, I have two blacksharks pro and they have been awesome. If anything other headsets are even worse so…
I have had a viper mini for 1,5 years now, only problem is the scrollwheel that sometimes double scrolls or scrolls the wrong way, but i can live with that.
I feel like Razer used to be so good. Now I avoid it as if it was an aliexpress offbrand
For now the brands that I find ok are bloody and steelseries for PC accessories, my first mouse was A4tech, now bloody, that thing is still in working condition after 15 years, but I changed recently, mouse and keyboard, to steelseries, I like the analog keyboard, I will eventually buy the artic headset, but for now I am using my music headphones, marshall IV, one of the best headphones I have owned, but their included mic is not the best, they also are the headphones I have had the longest, I tend to break them, so, that is a durable brand.
I love love love these headphones though. They’re the most comfortable and best sounding PC headphones I’ve ever tried. I hope mine do not do this.
Similar thing is happening to my HyperX Cloud Mix, the plastic side parts have screws connecting the inside platic part to the outside one and the screws have managed to break the internal plastic off on both sides in addition to the plastic cracking.
Yeah fuck razer spent 150 on a mouse and they couldn’t bother to fix it’s awful issues because they wouldn’t let me update the software without the USB dongle I didn’t ever use and had discarded, because apparently they can’t RMA until I update the software and I cant update it wired for some reason
Spent 30 seconds trying to wipe the hair off my screen. Realized it’s a hairline crack in the headphones
Razer fucking sucks. I was gifted a Razer Blade Pro to be my daily driver back in college and they wouldn’t replace my unit despite it randomly freezing and shutting down. My favorite part is that I could apply a minor amount of pressure to a specific part of the laptop and make it shut down instantly. They couldn’t find the issue when I sent it in, denied my warranty, and almost didn’t return my laptop.
Even the mice used to be better
