I kinda like Johnny’s design better because he feels different enough from keanu to be separate in my head. Reed’s character is really cool but the whole time im doing his quests in my head hes idris elba
Touch_TM
He looks like Bob from Fight Club

There’s a difference in hero level character models when you look at the original CP release against 2.0 because the technology both for development and for the target platform changed so much in those few years. To go back and change Johnny’s model would mean changing most of, if not all of the original npcs otherwise there would be a severe quality and style mismatch, however they can add new characters that are more detailed as long as they stylistically match the old ones.
SmellyBeans07
Id imagine they had to scale back level of detail because when the game released because of the old gen consoles
ThousandTroops
Well I mean they were working on Keanus character like 5 years ago, and it had to be released on junk PS4 etc.
Idris is the latest and greatest. And, well, he’s Idris Elba 😂

This has to do with the state of the technology, and software of when the character models were created. More than a three year difference. Moore’s Law can be considered to apply to software, as well as hardware.
Stickybandits9
They both have their flaws.
wordsworthstone
bruh the game is 4 years old and the development time was even longer, imagine how long ago johnny’s character model was. it was not rushed, just old.
They changed Johnny’s design with 2.0, he looks more like Keanu than before

There’s that, and the fact one is an existing character in the tabletop with a basic design, and the other is original to the game. They had something to work with on Johnny, earlier tech, and different character archetype as well.
LMGSentientToilet
Reed just wanted some of that dat sweet Songbird ass.
BornIn98
I hated idris in the dlc. Why higher English actors to do american accents especially when they are shit at them.
Mirinya
Well the tech is from a gazillion years ago. Pixels and all you know.
StormfromShadow
I agree but I think it was a matter of circumstance than intent. Development for the original game was atrocious. However considering the launch of the dlc I’m more than happy to see that CDPR got their groove back
