I’m just wondering what the average is.
I think there is a couple of things in life worth investing in regarding yourself and making your day to day life better.
-
Sleep
A good bed is essential for a good night of sleep.
As we spend ~8h a day in bed, and how that time is spent, influences the other 16h quite significantly, it’s worth investing in. -
Kitchen
Food is essential. A place (preferably with enough space), a good stove and oven, quality pans and knives that make it easier and more fun to cook healthy, so we stay healthy.
It costs a little bit but it’ll prevent so much effort and frustration. -
Work
Whether you’re working from home or have to travel a lot (so buying a good car), we also spend a lot of time working. So buying good stuff for work means being able to focus on the job and being more productive. Especially if you can combine the working from home setup for entertainment as well.
Little by little I’m investing more in these three things (aside from regular hobbies and such) and hope to get these three in balance.
So the setup:
OAKO Denmark Sit-Standing desk ~€1100
SecretLab Titan X 2022 ~€600
Alienware AW3423DWF ~€850
Acer XF240H ~€150
MacBook Pro M3 36GB ~€3500
Fractal Design North ~€140 with:
ROG Strix Z390-E Gaming ~€200
Intel I9-9900k ~€350
MSI RTX 3080 Ti Gaming 12G ~€625
Corsair Vengeance Pro 64GB 3600MHz ~€130
Samsung 970 EVO 1TB ~€160
WD Blue SN580 1TB ~€60
be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850W ~120
Logitech G560 ~€200
Logitech G X Pro Wireless ~€150
Logitech G502 SE Hero ~€80
Logitech G915 ~€180
Blue Yeti ~€100
So all together my current setup is worth:
~€9000,-, invested over de the course of 10 years or so (not including everything that has been replaced)
For clarification, I am not trying to boast, I am merely interested in what you all have invested in your hobby/work from home setup 🙂

I think around 7000$ wow
Depends on what counts as part of my setup, but for my gaming room with my PC setup, secondary PC and console setups certainly way north of 10k. My PC audio equipment is worth more than an average gaming PC… 🙂
Way too much.
My pc is a Frankenstein build.
I’ve spent maybe 15k on the pc alone at this point, I have four 800 dollar monitors, a few 200 dollar mice, three 150 dollar keyboards, a mix of headsets, three studio microphones. I got my desk for free, tho
I bought pillows and a coffee once, do I add them so you can compare these with your carpet costs?
I mean good luck but I don’t see the point, stuff costs money.
