The Tower is/was a happy ending for me.
I’m friends with multiple rock stars and celebrities, I was offered a safe and comfy office job with Reed (not sure I even need to take it, with all the connections I have), and most importantly I never had to connect my brain to mikoshi/soulkiller.
There are no happy endings in Night City, so take after Judy and leave NC.

The original TTPRPG had adam smasher kill the party once the GM decided to end the campaign and the game adapted this perfectly.
“There are no living legends.”
That’s why the Reed ending works, you have to give up on being a legend completely in order to not die.
