What character in the lore could replace Adam Smasher in the sequel as a vilain ? He was so both cool and intimidating, is there any chances he might still be alive ?

Crispin Weyland said it best. “(The) Bastard has a bad habit of coming back from the dead.”
So yeah he’ll probably be back.

I wouldn’t mind if he came back with a more robotic personality like when The Mountain was revived in GoT

I hope not, but it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he did.

Given Saburo put his brain on a backup they could’ve done the same with Smasher, if anything there’s a chance they made the ending where V uploads themselves to Mikoshi, so they could take the proverbial mantle.

    COULD he come back? Absolutely?

SHOULD he come back? It depends on the context.

Should he come back as the final big boss villain? In my opinion, no way. I want the franchise to move on and expand to something new, rather than reheating leftovers for fan service.

He’s a great villain but I think/hope that CD Projekt Red jumped the Cyberpunk timeline forward for a reason. They can’t throw out canon, but I think it’s nice that the video game timeline is separate enough that it doesn’t have to deal with the constraints of being set in the same time period as Cyberpunk 2020 or Cyberpunk Red. Gives them the chance to make original villains.

If they bring him back, he’s not in very good shape after I was done with him.

The real villain is the corporations. Adam is just their enforcer.

He was just a body guard in the game, he was relevant to Johnny, and thats all

The rumors are the next game is gonna be Blackwall AI based, teased their threat with PL. There is a possibility the main villain won’t be a person at all, but could be one of those eldritch god-like AIs finding a way to exist in RealSpace. As for Mr. Blue Eyes? Nah, I suspect he is a pawn, Rogue AI sure, but what we saw in PL? Hell no.

I figured “Adam” is just the loose consciousness of a serial killer soldier that can die infinitely as Arasaka can download his engram to a new Borg body, if his faculties deteriorated enough they can easily find plenty of Cyberpychos to fill his shoes.

If he had to come back, it’d probably be as a construct made specifically to follow orders and have no autonomy of his own. Considering V either kills him (which puts an end to him) or spare him. Sparing him still takes us to the construct, since we know from Adam himself that he hates mercy, so him getting spared by a random merc probably made him go ape-shit.

What makes you think they didn’t have backups of the motherfucker?

I kind of want the next BBEG to be an AI

Night city aint the kind of city where you comeback alive after getting your head smashed to pieces

In The Witcher II the decision of killing Leto or sparing him had consequences in The Witcher III. An NPC interrogated about your decisions, and if you said that you spared him, he appeared as a recruitable ally for the Kaer Morhen battle. Maybe they’ll do something similar in Cyberpunk.

    MEGATRON!

I want more cyberpsycho battles and stories thrown in. Preferably, some horrible experiments gone terribly wrong and rogue from within Maelstrom’s walls. Some seriously pain in the ass overpowered monsters of people type shit.

He should come back and be killed off in the intro sequence by the main character. To set the mood.

  19. Ponders0

I don’t really want him to come back outside of a nod or reference. The big bad/boss for Orion should be a Corp, the final boss being some powerful mech or some shit like the cyberskeleton.

  20. dogfan20

The next villain is going to be an AI mind controlled Morgan Blackhand, you heard it here first.

In the ‘saka camp alone, Oda and Takemura could both get the Robocop treatment to take over for Smasher. Neither are as intimidating to look at, but I think they’d both actually be better at the job.

  22. LastDovahCHIM

His brain is either backed up some where or canonically V/Johnny didn’t kill him so he had to live with the shame of his defeat. I prefer the latter.

  23. KarlmarxCEO

Adam is backed up and ready to be implanted into some poor fucks skull at a moments notice. That’s my take anyway. Imagine waking up to him in your head instead of Johnny.

  24. youthanasia138

I executed him every time we had an encounter. Unless his engram is floating around…. I don’t want him to come back

  25. drewofdoom

Twist. V is the replacement villain. Repercussions of the relic made V go a tad bit insane. Bonus, they could pull the looks from random saves on 2077, so everyone gets a personalized V-illian.

The answer that came to my mind is Ai. Specifically powerful AI beyond blacwall, they are scary, very dangerous (as phantom liberty shows) and If theory about mr. blueyes is true, then they also can use people as proxy, something like possessing them.
