I haven’t played it since it came out and that line is still in my head.
I wouldn’t mind replaying the Max Payne 1 & 2 games, but since Remedy are working on re…somethings… I’ll hold off for a while. Haven’t played either game since I finished MP2 back in, what was it, 2003?
I know right! I like all the times you get to team up for a couple minutes. Mike the Cowboy, Mona Sax, the mobsters.
Yeah I’m looking forward to the remake. Rockstar and Remedy said they’re combining it into one game if I remember right.

Its truly a masterpiece. Now imagine playing it back in 2005. It was mindblowing.
Yeah, hate to sound like an old fart but they dont make games like this anymore. Still, im glad Max got to change his identity and get a job in the FBI in time to apear in Alan Wake 2.
First is even better. It has a lot more Norse mythology references. Second is diluted.

The game that brought Poets of the Fall to more peoples’ attention, and they’ve been working with Remedy ever since. That in itself is pretty amazing.
Truly an awesome game.

I love posts like this, someone discovering a legendary game from years past. Warms my heart, seeing it still getting the recognition it deserves.
I really need to play this again. I haven’t played it since it came out but I still listen to Poets of the Fall because of Late Goodbye in this game. I love the janitor that’s singing along to it.
I just finished 3 like 2 days ago. The gameplay still holds up, but some of the writing is dated. I got a bit tired of hearing Max say “funny one liner, but I’m a piece of shit” in every cut scene. The gameplay is so good thought that this is easily overlooked.
They should remaster this game with 4k texture pack + ray tracing +dlss etc.

Max Payne 1&2 are in my top 5 all time favorite games.
I played them last year 1 to 3 and yea 2 is my favourite

The amount of awesome physics they had back then and how little we have today still wonders me. You would think we would see at least the same amount of physics today, but most of the time there is none at all or its very bad.
I remeber playing it when it came out, over and over again. I pretty much new every corner, enemy location, story beat, dialogue.
I still listen to Late Goodbye (that ending song) from time to time and think about how awesome Max Payne 2 was. When it was new, it didn’t click for me since it came out pretty soon after the first game, but going back to it, it is incredible and holds up so well! Remedy using that band for Alan Wake and other games is also super awesome
