Just saw this on Facebook market place today! So I had to message them. They work the night shift so their best pick time was 2am at a local homeless shelter. Obviously someone who works nights and supports the community doesn’t lie.

    ask for pic with a written timestamp with the current date and time next to it, if they get mad then it’s fake.

    I just got one for $1300 on marketplace. Thought it was a scam for sure until I realized the person selling it was the drummer is a pretty large metal band.

    Remind me once they reach the sub 700 € territory. 1200 € is already somewhat common but those cards were horribly overpriced all the time and additionally on low supply and high demand. Now with Blackwell on the horizon some might want to sell theirs off for a somewhat “good” price – If you paid the MSRP, the loss over 2 years would even seem acceptable.

    Still only use Paypal or fetch personally and always demand timestamp pics of the product because theres a lot of scam. Likely by next year these will be common under 1000 all the time. I might even get one then. Its a small upgrade over a 7900 XTX, but for ~800 € (after selling my card) not worth it, its like I could already buy 2 7900 XTXs for that money. Better wait for the launch and buy a cheap one after if avaiable, Blackwell will be horribly overpriced and AMD will likely only launch a shit card that will possibly not even beat the 4090.

    This is so easy to find out if its fake, tell them to meet up at the front doors of any local police station at noon because thats when most police officers take lunch and well be chilling in the HQ parking lot.

    Also tell them you want a video of it running in a pc showing it can handshake with an actual computer.

    Then tell them youre going to take a picture of their license plate when you arrive with no money and will get it after you can physically see the card and verify.

    Sure these requests might seem weird to a normal person trying to sell this but…

    1. There should be no issue taking a photo of the license plate as you’ll literally see it as he’ll see yours.
    2. If the police station throws them off you wouldnt want to be near them anyways if theyre weary of that, since if they have a record or trying to rob they wont bite.
