TIL, BOTD was originally supposed to have the Mobsters back to the map they debuted in, but despite BO4 having the most budget and being the earliest planned zombies game, they still couldn’t get the rights to the cast for BOTD, via. A celebrity cast and why Mob & Call would never get remastered

I think the biggest issue with BOTD is that it removed the afterlife mechanic. I understand that it probably wouldn’t have made sense with the Primis crew/wouldn’t have worked in the BO4 system. But without it, setting up on the map is kind of a chore.
With all the new areas added, the map is way too big, and the fast travels don’t help since they take so long similar to the ones on voyage of despair.
One of the best parts of original MOTD is that you can get the plane parts in any order you want. This made the map a lot more replayable and flowed much smoother.
TranZit, Die Rise and Buried didn’t come back because of the bank system alone. They could have forgotten the perma-perks. But they couldn’t implement the bank system again for whatever reason. My theory is we earn Liquid Divinium by spending points every 6-7 rounds. By getting all the points we could throw off that balance. At least I’m guessing It’s stupid that they didn’t come back.
