The future is looking bleak. We must demand changes.

6th-9th gen Intel was peak CPU packaging. Change my mind

2024 is perfect, hardware boxes is the worst aesthetic on the planet

As long as they don’t put a random animal or a tank or fighter jet on the box, like some *Gamer*™ GPU manufacturers did.

Or maybe just get over it? It’s a box. It doesn’t matter.

By the time 2030 rolls around we will also have processors as a service. Intel will brick them if you dont pay the monthly fee.

The fuck I care? Packaging costs money. Give me a blank brown box with the name stamped on it by some guy named Lou.

All packaging has become more boring, but especially PC parts.

Remember old school GPU boxes that had awesome artwork on them?

I also miss how you used to be able to get parts made with crazy PCB colors. Today it’s mostly black, a little green, blue and white. Used to be crazy bright shades of green and blue, red, purple, yellow, etc etc were common PCB colors.

    Get off my lawn!

From a marketing perspective I don’t really understand why they would plaster their name on their low end processor so prominent. Do they want to position their brand as low cost?

I think they would have been better off with leavimg their “Ultra” branding and calling that the “Intel Processor”.

They won’t care a damn shit as long as it sells, and amd is the only competitor available…..bleak as it seem, it’s working in the end , that what matter.

Honestly if it was up to me i would ban any printing on packaging outside of a singular or maybe 2 stickers limited to covering only 10% of the area or 10cm^2 whichever is greater. That would reduce waste, and would make advertising harder, making the BETTER QUALITY product sell better instead of the one the manufacturer of wasted more money on pointless ads and pointless flashy packaging

And as a bonus it would put an end to the problem in the OPs post.

So a dual socket Motherboard will need a pp?

  13. I prefer the companies to spend money on the product itself then waste it on packaging. Some packages out there are just wasteful.

  14. just ship cpus with integrated rams. It will at least double ram speeds and latency.
