An adapter should work as long as the voltage is the same for both things, look up the voltage where you are and voltage for your monitor and psu, if there the same voltage it will work

The socket is for 6 Amps current delivery.
The plug is for 16 Amps.
You can use an adaptor. Assuming you are on 220 volts, 6 Amps can still provide 1200 watts approx.
So unless you exceed that, you are good with an adaptor.
Just get a good quality one. Cheap ones can melt and cause fire or sparks.

Get an extension board which has 16A sockets, and for the long run upgrade alteast the socket which you are gonna plug the extension board to. Rather than asking on a western subreddit go ask your papa.

That looks like a socket for a 5 amp lighting circuit. If so even if you adapt it I don’t think that’s going to work.

use 6 pin socket like this one. Commonly used for heavy appliances AC or washing macine.

You aren’t fucked. Just look for a 16A/31A outlet in your home. It should be similar to that for an AC or a microwave. Those big ass sockets where it’s a headache to plug in small plug heads. That way you can plug it in.

Remove that plug and put in a power plug or just use another cable that is smaller. I did that with my laptop cable and it worked perfectly. I replaced a switch and it worked flawlessly as well
Its a 16amp pin be thankful you got this , I got a 13amps pin and my story was worse .
Call an electrician and change the socket to 16amps

The mystery of different sockets will honestly always be mindboggling to me… Like, I get a lot of these are because of different currents and whatnot (no electricity expert here). But its just one of these things being European I just can’t grasp why people use something else. And not just because these triangle-sockets are one-way plugs rather than 2-way (explained it to my friend the other day as USB-A vs USB type C, the latter is just so much handier).

OP, that’s cable has a 16A plug, while your socket is 6A. You will need to replace the cable with a 6A one. You are not f*cked

Just get a bunch of 6A plug and replace the OG plug, get a bijali wala (electrician) to do the replacement if you are not confident. Otherwise if you have a computer shop near by they should have a cable with 6A plug for sale.
Just a note, most PSU (under 1000w) and should work fine with a 6A plug. But manufacturers have started shipping 16A plug to avoid issues with shoddy wiring.
Had the same issue with my pc. An adapter will work but for long term safety I suggest you contact an electrician and get a socket installed.
Goes to any near electric shop and ask for 20 amp good extension board if he doesn’t have readymate then he will make custom board for you .please use good compunrs likr havells product
