If the deal is good, you know you are taking a risk, buy it only if you can afford to lose it pretty quick. Odds are…ittl work for a long while, but don’t count on it.

I was selling my 2070 super on ebay for the same price i bought it for (£400) two years previous during the peak of the gpu shortage nightmare. A buyer bought it and a few days after they received it told ebay that it didnt work and made me refund it, while they sent it back to me. I knew it worked just fine so i was dreading that either it broke in transit or the user broke it and now returns it to me and id be F-ed.
The card arrives at my house and reluctantly i test it and to my absolute astonishment and relief, it works just fine just as it did when i sent it!!!
So i put it on gumtree for £450 pushing my luck, a buyer bought it for actual cash and i met them at a petrol station near me because CCTV, and that was that. Phew! 🙂

Bought my 1060 from a resale auction 7 years ago or so. (Asus white edition for $300CAD)
There was a time last year when it did the trippy colour thing and I thought it was toast. Mourned it for a few days, replaced it with an old workstation quattro I had laying around, hung it up and everything.
Lo and behold, for shits and giggles, I tried the 1060 again a few days later and it just worked. It’s worked just fine ever since. Though, I have underclocked the core and vram slightly just in case. I know I’m on borrowed time, but I’m happy.

Ha! Picked up a 3080 last year for around that price with “overheating problems.” Figured it needed a quick repad and repaste but when I went to do it the cold plate was completely gouged about 5mm wide and 2-3mm deep. Only way to cool it was to put it in a water block since the stock cooler was bunk.

I haven’t under paid for a card and got dupped, BUT i paid 600 usd each for my last 3 gpus in my main rig.
In order it was an evga 2070 sc gaming, an asus rog strix 6700xt, and now an asrock oc formula 6900xt. Im sure you can guess which years in recent memory these were purchased in lmao.

Bought a (new) rx6600 to replace my rx6500 XT. After putting in the new graphics card my PC started running way worse than before and after trying to replace the drivers, reseating the GPU, and even switching back to the old one the problem still persists. I asked a friend of a friend who works in IT to look at it and the only thing he could find is that both the GPU and CPU are running at idle speeds even during stress testing. Basically the only choice I have is to reinstall windows or crucify it.

Bought used 980Ti, 1070ti no issues. About 8 month ago started looking for 3070Ti (I know, 8Gb). Found one for $290 pre tax. With shipping cost me 325ish. Running good so far.

I bought a cheap dell singlenfan rtx 2060 on ebay a while back and… Surprisingly, dell makes a pretty great single fan 2060.
It ran really cool when i tested it and the person I put together the computer for hasn’t had any issues. I was a little worried, but yeah.
3060 for $210 years ago. Had the box and runs zero issue and my friend has it now.
