I do feel like open world is, well, overdone right now. There is nothing wrong with that kind of game, but there is just not enough time for players to experience what they have to offer and in some cases the content ends up being highly repetitive and lackluster to just pad the world. I am not saying everything should be linear and to the point, but there is definitely an often ignored middle ground of having multiple paths and have less optional stuff that is a bit more engaging.

Honestly I grew to hate this trend everything has to be open world nowadays. I’d rather a 10 hours meaningful corridor experience than a shallow 30 hours repetitive open world videogames.
Only make it an open world if you know wtf you’re doing. Otherwise stick to short linear experiences.

Honestly it’s the steam sales that get me, I can never finish something before I jump into another one.
Few weeks ago LFD2 was on sale for something like a dollar and ended up playing it all weekend with friends. The first Darkest Dungeon I already own on console but guess what I could get it with all the dlc for less than $10 and I got that the other day, I have to make myself not look at the store front at this point.

RDR2… I just end up going on hunting and fishing trips instead of actually doing missions
