Since this sub is such a big fan of this mod:

I cut the case with an angle grinder to fit the bigger fans (all components were removed). I held up the bigger fans and used a marker to make the line (note to anyone who does this, you can’t center the new fans). I cut to the marked line and then made small adjustments afterwards to suit. Ended up using a piece of the Noctua packaging cut to suit so it would fill the gap between fans. Didn’t realize the black high heat paint I had wasn’t truly black, but I sprayed anything I cut. Meets form and function. I kinda like the grey-black with the Noctua color scheme.

I understand for peak performance this may not be as high cooling as factory, but that wasn’t my goal. Factory is also pretty loud. I also used the “low noise” adapters on the fans. It runs whisper silent and ice cold without any fan curves. Everything I do is on ultra settings, and the system is solid. I could have gone all black, but I kind of like the classic Noctua color scheme. It’s all hidden behind the front cover anyway.

    AMD 7800X3D w/ Noctua air cooler, 7900XTX Speedster, Vengeance 64g 6000mhz, Tomahawk 650B, MSI 850 PSU, (2) m.2 980 pro 2TB, (1) Baracuda 8TB spinner.

Very cool mod OP! I’ve been thinking of doing something similar with my Torrent Nano in order to fit a single 200mm Noctua.

There’s a fan missing from the back of your PC, right?

Fractal told me they wouldn’t fit, so I went with 6 180mm ones 🙁 I can hardly tell the difference in performance if there is any, but it is quieter.

If you remove the 3 fans from below which are useless and you put 2 fans at the back of your PC, it would be at least 30% cooler…

  6. Really cool mod OP. Would be really interesting to benchmark vs 3×140 because of the recent trend to get more smaller fans with higher pressure vs massive pure airflow of the 200s

I really want to get my hands on a noctua gpu but it’s impossible where i live 🙁

Pity that Noctua doesn’t make 180mm fans otherwise I’d have gotten some for my Torrent already. Don’t want to go through all the hassle tbh.

That being said – did you see any difference in thermals and noise compared to the stock ones (which I already consider to be quite good)?

“Tempered glass – handle with care”
*lets it hang at 45 degree angle, what could possibly go wrong*

Everyone who’s had theirs explode just because they simply looked at it wrong is now mad because it didn’t in your case (yet).

I love the case I’m just sad they didn’t offer a vertical gpu option for it. Other than that it’s a beauty.
