But, I absolutely love my Hesh ANC 2. And I got surround sound speakers for both my desk and living room.
It’s been worth it imo. But not necessary ofc.

I have 3 headphones, all noise canceling tested with a .357 revolver and 12 gauge shotgun.
Lowest: 60 to 80$ Souncore Life 2 headphones
Middle: 20$ Gun Range Headphones
Best: 350$ Sony xm4 Headphones
The audio quality is *noticably worse* on the Soundcore (SC) because duh, of course, however it’s not a horrible drop in quality that I can’t get used to, I’ve preferred them sometimes for… whatever reason. I don’t mind a cheap backup, but this post is legit cope because you can’t afford a good set of headphones. I originally was just gonna do a list as a response to someone’s comment, but I got into it.
All in all, I would legit recommend some soundcore Life 2’s if you have to go budgeting on headphones, good sound, and 60 hr battery life! My xm4’s only have 48hrs… but apparently they’re easy to mod, so maybe I’ll give it a whirl when I buy some xm5’s to see if the price bump is worth it.

Love headphones but getting headphone hair with curly hair was super annoying so I had to start using IEMs (Sennheiser IE 900) which are even better during summer.

Except there is a massive difference between cheap IEMs and really good ones. They don’t even need to be crazy expensive. I do not believe in a lot of audiophile snake-oil but yes, up to a certain point quality of your transducer will make the biggest difference, and it’s simply not achieved at $20
Also, while I do like my IEMs, they aren’t exactly cheap, I do use headphones for multiplayer gaming and a proper 5.1.2 Atmos setup with an AV receiver and all for single-player experience. Actual surround, not virtual surround.

DT 990 250ohm. I got them for free from a buddy. Just had to solder a new jack on. These things are super comfortable and have a really wide sound stage. I’m no audiophile but these are a big step up from my old rig headphones. Using a fiio k5 pro dac/Amp I got off an auction site for 25 bucks. They were actually usable without an Amp but barely.
