Noticed my cpu temps routinely hitting 90 and felt no water transfer in the lines so I got a new one on the way. Decided to open this one up just out of curiosity and I found this. The cooler is an Artic liquid freeze II

    Standard AIO buildup..clean it out and you should be good

    The white stuff is either part of the cooling liquid or the aio was not cleaned properly during the production process ( solder stuff)

    The LF2 had a recall last year (maybe a bit longer) because of this issue. You can probably still get the repair kit from Arctic. Contact them and ask.

    yay more noise more money sometimes failing, sometimes squirt all over, never understand why aio become trending, if you are using i9 r9 nvm

    Took my aio apart after 5 years yesterday as my pc was idling at 70c, much the same, lots of gunk that’s built up, gave it a clean and some new fluid, trying to find my thermal paste at the moment.

    Arctic had a recall awhile Ago, something with their seal. Looks like you didn’t get notified about this. Contact them and they should help out I would

    Certain batches of Freezer IIs had an issue with build up and Artic released a kit that allows the end user to change the gasket, cold plate, and liquid themselves to fix. Garners Nexus released a video showing how when the issue was first addressed.

    This is why I use air coolers only. Unless you’re doing some sort of wild overclocking there’s no reason for liquid cooling, and all those prebuilt liquid coolers kinda suck anyways.

    Looks like a leaking head gasket. Coolant is mixing with your oil.

    had a bad experience w a thermaltake AIO letting my cpu hit 90 and even force shutting down when it hit 100 degrees one time. i switched to the thermalright phantom spirit air cooler, and i don’t think i’ll ever go back. very very powerful cooling for cheap, i highly recommend it!

    And this is why I air cool. I can blow out the fins if they get gunked up. If I need a new fan it’s easy to replace. A new AIO is going to cost $150+

    This is why I air cool when this happened to me and I don’t have to spend $100+ on a new AIO to get good temps

    I got the kits from Arctic to replace the rubber seal last year. I really should spend some time to replace the 3 Arctic AIO i bought…
