    In the devil ending you can tell Hanako is just doing a dialogue option-select with his engram. Actually talking to Jack in Mikoshi showed he was trying his hardest to actually talk to V with his broken engram

    At least his engram wasn’t complete. It only recorded some very superficial bits of his personality since he had been dead for some time when Arasaka got him. That means that the engram isn’t conscious or suffering, hopefully, and that any trace of the real Jackie is at rest.

    I’ve done every ending and never had a chance to speak to Jackie. What did I miss.

    I would take one for the team and delete this if you can’t edit it for spoilers. That was THE ONLY ending I hadn’t done in 3+ years of playing the game.

    Marked for spoilers. It’s just one scene in the vanilla game so I didn’t expect this many people to not know. It also happens in every single ending if Saka takes his body
