So I mainly play MW / Warzone and on PS5.. I liked the PS4 controllers way more than the PS5 ones . But to play with them only option would be either ps4 or pc wich isn’t available for me rn.
So , anyone here plays with the DS edge? Can you give some feedback on it ? Is it exactly the same as the normal Dualsense just with back paddles?
What I’ve understood the main benefits of the ds edge is the backpaddles and the triggers . I use L1 and R1 to aim/fire so I don’t think it will change something for me right? Since I understood it’s only L2 and R2 that can be adjusted ?
Are there any other benefits that YOU like and value with the DS edge over the normal DS?
I heard that the thumbsticks are not as “loose” as the normal DS . Is that only in the beginning when controller is new or is it always like that ? I think that’s a positive thing

Personally, I have been a PlayStation user for my whole life and I actually prefer using the Xbox elite controller. The paddles on the ds edge feel awkwardly in the wrong place for me. Idk if I just got used to the elite for warzone or what but i was pretty disappointed with the edge considering how excited is was when I heard about it initially.

The edge also has replaceable module thumbsticks so if one of them gets drift you can just buy a new stick rather than a new controller. I think it’s worth it for that and the paddles, it also has trigger drops. I broke my left wrist a few years ago and jamming the left stick hurts it if I play COD too long I already had the elite controller for Xbox but I got this one finally for the PlayStation and I definitely like it a lot. Other than the battery life is kind of abysmal

I bought it and i regret. I should have invest in a scuff, or an aim controller.

The click on L2/R2 is not a real click on the Edge

The ps5 controller is the worst thing to happen to call of duty. The ps4 controller was elite

Your paddles have been inserted incorrectly in that pic fyi

Also, Edge is quite good, especially for long term investment, but without proper digi triggers it simply won’t reach battle beaver / scuf levels in terms of pure performance

I come from 3+ years of using the Xbox elite controller on Warzone (both 1 and 2) and I recently switched to the DS Edge.

So far I’m pretty happy about it, especially because the Edge absolutely destroys Xbox Elites on latency (0.95ms VS 8ms!!) but honestly I still think the Elite 2 feels more solid material wise.

But what matters the most in FPS games is reaction speed and the Edge is king on this matter (remember you have to manually set it on 1000hz to achieve the highest speed).

DS Esge is the most smooth responding controller I’ve ever used for FPS. If it had four paddles it would be unbeatable.

I have had this and SCUF. SCUF didn’t last more than 6 months (stick drift issues). This co troller has lasted longer and you can replace individual sticks easily if needed. Would recommend

  9. Didn’t read the full post but I use a regular PS5 controller with extremerate rise4. I got the back plate with grip and 4 buttons for like 40 bucks. I also aim and shoot with L1/R1. Cheaper solution if you don’t want to get the edge. You do have to open the controller and install it though so not for everyone. In terms of quality been using them for about a year no issues. If you wanna be sweaty back buttons for jump and couch is a game changer. My other 2 buttons are for pinging and UAVs. Pinging is useful if you like to ping while you shoot

  10. Build quality of the Edge is far superior than anything I’ve had from Scuff or BattleBeaver

My honest opinion I wanted this for the paddles, I had it for 4days and I returned it straight back and got refund.

It’s too heavy, the feel just didn’t feel right, the paddles were in awkward positions on both adaptions.

I personally think its a waste of money. I went back to original dual sense.

I love my dual sense edge. The back paddles are nice as well the adjustable triggers are great for different styles of games. There is also a ton of settings that you can play with depending what you are playing and super easy button mapping to have the best layout for any game.

Yes, you can replace the sticks when they get stick drift, the new sticks will still have some drift. I’ve replaced mine 2 times now. The back paddles made it worth it to me. If you’re casual, I’d say you can pass but if you play often it’s worth it.

with replaceable thumbsticks this became my go to daily. my scurf controller became a plastic paper weight that was guna cost / be too much hassle to send back to corsair for repairs after forking out big bux for it :\

this has great build quality if ur satisfied with the normal dualsense, the L2 and R2 have hair trigger options that are really satisfying for manual fire in stuff like cod. Im a big fan of the back pedals, i like the smaller ones otherwise i was getting alot of accidental inputs.

The main benefit is the replaceable thumbsticks since drift is such a big problem with controllers. Outside of that, a custom controller from Scuf, Nagashock, Hypr Controllers (look up hall effect joysticks), or Battle Beaver can do everything the Edge can (except for replaceable thumbsticks), plus give you 4 remappable back buttons instead of the 2 Edge gives you. Stay away from AIM Controllers. I’ve had a bad experience with them, and you can go to their subreddit to see all the complaints people have against them.

I will forever be confused why Sony didn’t spring for the 4 backside buttons instead of the 2. Having only 2 back triggers prevents the Edge from being a true competitive controller.

  16. I didn’t like the fact even with the trigger locks at their tightest there was still a decent amount of travel. After playing with mouse click triggers I just couldn’t do it. But if you’re just coming from a regular Dual Sense it will be a game changer.

I’ve used it for a year on pc/ps5, one of my favorite controllers. The paddles were very comfortable and easy to use. You can change the response curve of the sticks to suit your play style or what feels best. The biggest con was that there is this leather/rubber like padding on the bottom half. I play a lot, and used it a lot. I always made sure my hands were very clean when using it. I didn’t eat food and play with it. I washed my hands after work to use it. It started to stain a nasty yellow/brown color and the material began to peel off. Hands just sweat and have oils ect and it seems to just stain easily. I read a lot of forums on it and it seems others had the same problem. You can take it off and replace with another black grip you can buy on amazon. But I don’t use it anymore so didn’t bother.

The paddles are the only extra two buttons you get. Other controllers have more but some people find having extra is too much. You can buy new joysticks if they begin to have horrendous stick drift. Mine just got stick drift 1 month ago after using it for over just a year. The issue is scalpers buy all the sticks so hadn’t been able to buy new ones 😂

I’d rate it overall a 7. Comfortability, software, and response time of the controller is a 10 for me, it’s the stupid material that brings it down. It’s a $200 controller and imo it should feel and confuse to look like a $200 controller.

Edit: if you really care about how responsive your controller is, PlayStation controllers have a faster response time than Xbox controllers. On pc you can overclock the controller. On console you cannot. So you’re limited to using the controllers default response time

It is a game changer. I never use square or triangle anymore

I love it. Only thing I don’t love though is the stick tension and weight. I have a -40% ps5 bb on the way but I’m really glad I have the edge as a backup.

it helped me improve greatly after switching to controller

  21. MarkusMillions

I’ve had both the Xbox elite 2 and dualsense edge and I prefer the dualsense edge. If you play on PC you can overclock the dualsense to 1 ms response time unlike Xbox elite which cannot be overclocked. I did only use 2 paddles on my Xbox elite though so that’s why it was easy to switch to the dualsense
