No! There are very, very few situations where an add on warranty will ever be worth it

nope. manufacture warranty is 3 years. you dont need 4 years.

Whenever I bought the Asurion warranty they always took it back and credited me a gift card for the amount of coverage. This has been on graphics cards, motherboards, power supplies, and even headsets just take the item and gift card each time. It’s completely up to personal preference tho do what you can afford!

  4. Powercolor gives you 2 years with the product, so you’re paying $99 for 12 months of cover and the accidental damage.

Sometimes. It’s an expensive card but I would do it at a store like micro center or worst case best buy

Have you ever bought anything expensive?

Have you ever bought said warranty?

    This is no different.

    No.

If it doesn’t break during the manufacture warranty it will never break until you hit it with a hammer or expose it to live power lines.

It comes with free warranty through the manufacturer. Most GPUs come with 2 years free

  9. 6SpeedMaverick

No they won’t replace it. Or they will give you a GTX 1660 as an equivalent.

  10. Extra warranties are nothing more than a scam. Very niche uses and any common warranty problems will never be covered.

No, the manufacturer warranty is plenty enough. Also check the benefits of the credit card you’re using. A lot of credit cards have benefits that will extend your warranty. Many years ago I had a computer monitor that went out on me about 2 months after the manufacturer warranty ended, but my credit card had a benefit that added an extra year of warranty after the manufacturer warranty ended for specific electronics, and computer monitors fit into that category. Got it replaced at no cost.

Comes with manufacturer warranty, fuck adding another one

  13. Gold_Mission_4277

no during this period the manufactor warranty will give you a replacement they will just get a replacement and pocket your $100 lol

If it’s worth it for them to sell it then it’s not worth it for you to buy it. Just clean it now and then and – Do. Not. Punch. It.

Warranty and insurance are scams! (For the most part)

Unless you specialize in breaking gpu’s in half, don’t get 1!

  17. dan_bodine

Maybe if the insurance was through someone else. Asurion is a bad company.

No. Never pay for the protection plan. Often times the period of time they cover, you’re also covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Protection plans are mostly a scam to get more of your money.

Well it’s better than the 30$ warranty Walmart offers me on a 15$ HDMI cable…

No, these are just about always a scam. They’ll give you the runaround and make it as tedious as possible in hopes you’ll give up, and if you don’t you’ll pay a hefty fee to actually get your replacement which will not be what you originally purchased.

A family member fell for Walmart’s warranty, after fighting them for a week, they offered to replace a $1000+ Samsung TV with a $300 Vizio, for a $250 replacement fee. lol

  21. KingFurykiller

No. Never ever ever ever buy an extended warranty for anything ever. They are expensive air

  22. Next-Project-1450

Manufacturer’s warranty likely doesn’t cover accidental damage like spilling beer on it.

    Your call.

I had that for my Philips TV and about 7 months later it started getting bad screen bleed out of nowhere that just got worse over a few weeks. I had the 2 or 3 year plan (can’t rem) and those fuckers accomplished every obstacle possible to not fix or replace. I understand “Amazon” not being able to take it back, but neither Philips or the Protect Plan were willing to help at all. If anything their customer service was dismissive of everything I brought up about the TV. Asurion kept insisting it could be something I was doing wrong and I just play PS5 and movie streaming and dust it (gently) every few weeks. I never get pissy with CS Support because I’ve done those jobs myself and it sucks, but I was definitely not shy about showing my frustration. Fuck those scummy “protection insurance” companies in general. The PRODUCT company should have their own added insurance plans for people who are willing to pay for an extra year+ on their ALREADY EXISTING warranty and cut out the middle-man. Then again I’m absolutely clueless about running a business like that but trust me bro I saw Wolf of Wall Street.
