Money well spent
Setup breakdown!!
Computer – AW M16 7945hx/4090m = $2070
Desk – Copenhagen Walnut/Acrylic desk = $100 on CL
Chair – “Managers chair” on Amazon, the well rated one = $200
Mouse – idk the one my work gave me for when I wfh, same with dock
Screens – Samsung 28” 4K 60Hz and HP 27” QHD 75hz = Free from trash bin at work
Keyboard – Cherry brown switch mechanical kb = free from trash bin at work
2 TB 2280 980 pro = $180 (bought a yr ago)
4 TB Crucial P3 2280 = $185
2 TB Inland 2230 = $185
Adding in tv setup since I dock my laptop there:
TV – Samsung AU8000 = $700 in 2022
Sound – Vizio 5.1 surround system = $180
12 TB HDD behind TV = $120
Stand = $50
Wireless KB+M = $27
Totals to ~$4k, seems reasonably capable for the total cost 🙂
Some day, you will say to the next generation, “Back in my day, $45 could get you a beer AND a steak,” and none of the kids will believe you.

So many kids even today with no good pc. how happywould they be if they got one of those screens. as they still have that crappy 24″ screen from 2005.
We all know someone in trouble. we do, it;s right in your neighbourhood. How can a person throw it away? or company for that matter? it;s not like they r crappy screens oh no.

Yep, working in IT gets you access to the goodies on their way out of the door when it’s upgrade season. Granted that doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does.. strike while the iron is hot.
