While not all of them are terrible, buying up random crate loots is like gambling.

Currently playing Baldur’s gate 3. I habe to admit it was the most enjoyable RPG that I play for the last 5 years.
Just a reminder that Diablo IV is a 70 dollar game, has season passes, an extremely expensive ingame store and is gonna have DLCs. It even sold you earlier play time lol. You literally can’t monetize a video game more than that.

Exactly why I was annoyed with the community for defending Capcom’s MTX.
I don’t care if ‘it’s optional and you can earn it’ the fact they’re asking for it shows they’re willing to take money for what is effectively cheats and I’m sorry- any other industry asking for stupid optional extras would get mocked out the door.
But “It’s a dev I like! It’s ok if they do it!” apparently excuses it.
I like Capcom’s games too, but holy crap people need to reevaluate their standards if they’re gonna defend something like this.
Most modern games I’ve played don’t have micro transactions. I don’t know why people praise BG3 for it specifically? The only thing I do is stay away from typical online/shooter/AAA games, because they don’t interest me
