Larian Studios Won't Make Baldur's Gate 3 DLC, Expansions, or Baldur's Gate 4 – IGN

Not shocked by this. WotC is crazy money hungry right now so licensing would be a nightmare. They now have the name recognition that means they don't need WotC, D&D, Forgotten Realms, or Baldur's Gate to make sales. They have their own IPs and will probably see DOS 3 next would be my guess.

Not suprised really, with all the bullcrap wizards of the coast pulled these past few years along with hasbro

I missed in the article that they edited it to say the next will NOT be a DOS sequal… so we’ll see.

If they really wanna be like BioWare, now they’ve gotta ship a Star Wars masterpiece, a la KoTOR, and then they’re on to their Mass Effect (with a less-successful Jade Empire along the way).

They won’t need to if they add good enough mod support, people will make their own expansions

i mean, nothing in this article suggests that’s the reason?

    >They have their own IPs

this is likely the reason, but who knows what will happen?

If they go back to DOS that will be unfortunate to me because no matter how good the systems or writing were, I absolutely hated their aesthetics and I couldn’t get into them for more than a couple hours.

WOTC should relinquish all D&D rights to Larian

I hope I live long enough to see a Divinity II remake. I wanna see the dragon gameplay with modern graphics.

They should do Shadowrun. It could easily be as big as BG3.

BG4 is I guess news but haven’t they been saying for a while that bg3 wouldn’t have any dlc?
