It all depends on what price you got it from. While some GPUs are bad choices because you can get something better for the same price, they can be smart alternatives if you find them for a massive bargain.

i buy 3050. (my old card its msi radeon 5450 512mb) lol
Intelligent_League_1
Me with the 4060, then some guy made a build for me that included the insane 4070 super
Thatnudist0
I have an I9 with a RTX 4060 and people were criticizing it like it was garbage when it’s really fucking not a laptop that’s actually pretty damn good. Is it the best not by any measure is it what I could afford yes it was. And you know what most if not all games it runs at over 120 FPS so I’m happy with that…except for fallout for some reason it just doesn’t recognize my graphics card this. That subject does anybody know why it would be giving me that error that it doesn’t recognize the graphics card and runs like dog shit because of it?
RepresentativeHuge79
I feel this lol. It opens up a can of worms, every time i talk about running a 3070ti
TheLoboss
Honestly, I say get what is best for your use case. If you are someone that plays specific games that run well on the card you plan to get and only plan to play at certain resolutions like 1080p, you are fine. Not everyone has the budget or wants to spend a billion dollars on a GPU.
sirflappington
3050 is bad if you got it for the release price. If you got it cheaper, then it’s not bad. Not a bad product, just a bad price
iSamYTisHere
don’t feel bad i have an hd 4650 1gb ddr2 it’s worse than a gt 710 and i’m fine with it
idk i might get an rx550 or a 1050 2gb since my psu is oem crap without a 6 pin and only like 300 watts
Scytian
People hate it because in most regions it’s has terrible value. RX 6600 is cheaper than RTX 3050 8GB and it’s 15-30% faster, RTX 3050 6GB is even slower and its not really cheaper than RX 6600.
Lower_Discussion4897
It would be a great upgade for me from the 1050ti, and suits my system because I have a 300w Dell power supply. I simply can’t run some of the better value options on the market because of the power draw.
EastLimp1693
Tbh you get what you can afford, haters gonna hate no matter what.

I got 3060 to for $600 and IT WAS CHEAP, right now it costs more, genuinely envy you guys who have adequate prices for tech
Lord_Waldemar
They’re just jealous they can’t multiply their gpu power for that little money.
Giratina_8
didnt people hate it price related to performance?
Technical_Size_5873
It’s not a bad card, it’s just bad value
tyeguy2984
Dawg I upgraded to a 3050 at the height of the shortage for $350 from a 960. 100% worth it but definitely got a 3070 once prices came down on them. Now I just have a decent backup

Man just ignore them and enjoy your GPU. I see everyone here trashing the GTX 1650, but for my PC use cases I don’t really need any better GPU(hell I’d go as far as saying it’s overkill for me lol) and I don’t see myself replacing it soon unless it stops working for some reason.

You kinda deserve it, it’s thanks to people buy without any research that the GPU market sucks.

Well its way better than what you had before.

Still an upgrade tho
Lagomorph9
It is way better than a GT 710, and is a fine GPU for 1080p gaming in the vast majority of titles. And honestly, it doesn’t even cost enough that it’s a major investment, and it’s also efficient and easily repurposed later in a secondary build or as a transcode GPU for a Plex server, etc.
duBuzzinGuy
Make that 96%
oktaS0
Yes, don’t get an 50 or 60 from the 30 and 40 series.
IndyPFL
Not a bad GPU, just a bad price. Ironically, the 3050 6GB is actually a better value in cost/frame and doesn’t require external PSU power. But compared to a 710 the 3050 is a substantial leap in power and can actually play modern games.

imagine replacing one of the most hated cards with one of the most hated cards
FWIW it would be a fine card if it MSRP’d 80-125 USD. usually cards are hated for pricing reasons, then functional reasons. this is hated for pricing reasons.

I got myself a 3060 and then found out i could get a 4060 at the same price, i was angry but in leftover money got good monitor and balance my anxiety 😆
Kiryln
Well if you’re upgrading from a 710 then it doesn’t really matter cause either way it’s gonna be a huge performance boost
Weaseltime_420
You went from a GT710 to an RTX 3050?
Hell yeah, that’s a massive leap. Enjoy yourself.
