They’re after EO and as i know the cheat are still on on their website still an interesting news!
This just means the cheating problem is so big that there are multiple providers with 10,000s if not 100,000s of cheaters. It’s more efficient to go with the legal option than trying to improve the anti-cheat. Legal action can’t be done against certain providers because the country they live in do not class cheat development as illegal and don’t have extradition treaties with the US
They need to allow the OPTION console only crossplay, with separate stats and leaderboards.
