Yeah, I only started playing after the big update, so everyone talking about how tough this guy was really confused me. I just did the same tactic as all the other fights: let him throw a punch, stun with a counter, and punch until he recovers.
Parrying (I’m a dark souls players and I don’t remember what it’s called in Cyberpunk) trivializes all of the melee fights in game.
I never knew how much I liked that relic skill for crit locations until I started hand to hand combat
The first fighting in this game is a joke. Parry and wail, repeat until they’re down.
I’m more blown away that anyone had trouble with these fights.
All the fists come at you super telegraphed and practically in slow motion
countering is super easy on all difficulties, barely an inconvenience

all the fights are easy. Just play them like it’s dark souls, just walk around them constantly and keep hitting them in the back of the head. They’re not good at chasing or following you when you’re constantly circling them.
Do not stand in front of them and try to fight them normally. You can constantly just circle behind them.
I changed difficulty even though I did the stomach punches. The fistfight in this feels like an afterthought.
Razor isn’t difficult if you have gorilla arms. dont even need any of the blunt weapon buffs,
If you have the wrecking ball. perk you can spam the running elbow attack

Um why no gut punches? Crouch and hit the mid section after block, that’s weak point not mention your scan. Probably would have downed him in way less time.

They nerfed him and all the other boxing fights ages ago. Without gorilla arms, you did no damage. Armor did nothing to prevent their damage, so you went down in 2-4 hits. Blocking was janky AF, so half the time it didn’t work. Blocking did almost nothing against Razor anyway and half of his swings were instant KO’s.
This fight might as well be Mike Tyson Simulator 2077.
They hyped this guy up so much, but I think it was the easiest fight in that questline. I don’t know if he touched me once aside from a few counters to get him off balance. I was playing on regular hard though not very hard. I’ve since upped the difficulty, but I don’t think it would have changed things too much since I just obliterated him without even using gorilla arms.

Do people not realize you can stunlock every opponent in every fight just by charge punching?
I suuuuuuck at any form of combat strategy. I’m a 50 something yr old grandma, my adult son teases me about dying more than playing. And even I beat Razor without gorilla arms. Just follow what Vic says. Hit him in the abdominal/rib area and dodge as much as possible.
I would hit him a couple times then run around the ring like a scared cat or actually attempt a dodge maybe even sometimes counter if I could manage. Hit a few times, run. It worked.
This is great. I’m still struggling with him on HARD at level 60 with Body 13 (I have more of a netrunner/ninja build) and the regular gorilla arms. Everything I’ve read says that should be plenty enough to beat him post-2.0, but I’m still failing, so it must be my technique. I’m not a big melee gamer so I don’t have boss skills, but I did really well against all the other fighters. Any tips? It looks like you’re basically just blocking his strong attacks and then pummeling him with one of the other gorilla arms. Any particular perks, other cyberware or consumables?
My friend made a fighting build and use the entire game, this guy was so easy for him on very hard that it was weird

they definitely nerfed him a LOT. on release even with gorilla arms and a pretty tanky build if he landed two punches you were fucking dead lol i really enjoy the boxing fights in this game but its changed a lot from launch.

I just spammed heavy attacks with gorilla arms on him. He couldn’t even fight back because he had no time to recover from the heavy hits.
Lol on very hard with gorilla arms and the relic upgrades it’s so ez. Just spam fast attack until your fists light up then power attack.
Did they make the fight easier? I remember around launch it took me like 20 tries with full gorilla arms build and now Ibeat him on my latest playthroug with no gorilla arms and like 5 points on body in like 6 or 7 tries.

Once you figure out the timing on the counter strike, the boxing becomes SUPER easy.

Really? They nerfed all the “Beat on the Brat” fights to be cartoonishly easy back on patch 1.2 or 1.3.
Before that people were crying that it was too hard, and that their 3 Body netrunner build was *entitled* to the status of NC boxing champ without putting in the work to earn it.
Are those Blackwall gorilla arms?! I’m a blades/ cyber wire main, haven’t used gorilla arms much. Don’t remember a red aura on the fingers though

I don’t really get how you guys are having trouble. Even at 3 body and max difficulty. You can fucking parry him. He can’t do damage at all. You can just plant your feet and parry every punch, the window is huge.

I used my sandy to get behind him and pummel him down with gorilla arms.
1.0 – 1.5 he was rather difficult. I never found him as difficult as Rhino though, took me to many tried to beat that Animal.
2.0 made all of the fights cake because the perfect block window became extremely easy to pull off and your stamina didn’t get absolutely shit on which would weaken your punches significantly and also stagger you increasing the incoming damage you took iirc.
Why do I lose health when parrying?
Difficulty only changes their health and damage correct?
