I got the game when it first launched in 2020 and played on Normal, but DNF. After a few months, I picked it back up again but on another console and played on Hard.
You can change it during game for essentially no penalty. I played normal because I didn’t want to kill the narrative while I was learning, then went up to hard after I got the hang of everything. I think I went back down to normal for some of the boxing missions because I suck at em 😅

I think I did mine on normal

My favorite difficulty is through a mod – the enemies use the behavioral patterns of Very Hard and have the health levels of Very Hard, but their damage output is of the Hard level. I find it perfect.
My first playthrough was way back on 1.31. I had so many damn mods affecting everything from enemy stats to limiting my use of everything from weapons and healers. I was technically on Hard, but it was probably made more difficult than vanilla Very Hard ever was.

Very hard, look out for those enemies with a skull on top their health bars

Normal, then up to hard by the end. I’m used to being real bad at shooters, but it let me computer nerd away most of my problems so it was okay.
ElPatreecko
Normal first then hard twice. Just played through TLOU2 remastered and was hoping to find something else I want to play on PS5 but I’m not and very hard is calling me back for another round. Startin tonight.
SoggyMorningTacos
Very hard + enemies of night city mod.
Fuckers heal, use every quickhack, constantly throw grenades at you, always try to outmaneuver and flank you and some factions just flat out rush you at once. It’s a ton of fun
Crafty-Ad-3601
Normal. I think maybe it was easy, but I don’t remember and my current difficulty setting is normal.
It’s the perfect difficulty for me, as most of the time I run around night city I usually “accidentally” oopsy a civi and one thing leads to another max tac is called in.
Easy is way too easy, they die quicker than I expect.
Hard just turns them into bullet sponges for me.
Very Hard is the same thing but now if I make the slightest mistake my health gets evaporated.
Normal is the balance between the difficulties. Perfect for casual.
armacall
The hardest one. It feels like the hardest difficulty is really just the normal or hard setting of any other rpg.
MrProtogen
Easy, I simply wanted to enjoy the games story. Next time I’ll play harder.
Mrnameyface
Normal is way to easy

Normal
AlphaErebus
My first play through was on easy as I wanted to just learn the mechanics of the game (it was the first fps I ever got into) and I really just wanted to focus on the story. Now I play on normal as I’m still not huge fan of fps but love Cyberpunk
LaZeeeeD
Just got the game yesterday with the PL expension and playing it on Very Hard! Managed to stealth my way through konpeki plaza. Just got back from Vik and met J.S for the first time. I’m livid!

I’d start on normal, then crank it up to hard or very hard. >!the endgame gets insanely easy and is very underwhelming if you play on anything less than hard!<
WaldoOU812
Very hard. Not because I’m anything special (I have no qualms whatsoever about setting games to easy or even narrative mode), but because Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the few games where I’m really invested and wanted to push myself as much as possible.
Of course, ever since then, I’ve used cheat codes, but that’s simply because they don’t have a New Game+ mode.
Pristine_Magazine357
The game was too easy on anything but very hard before 2.0. Now even Hard isn’t bad.. I still went with Very Hard with 2.0 because I think it’s a little bit more interesting but you die quick.
Cheata-
I went with Hard to start with and went very hard midway through. You kinda become OP after lvl 20-30 depending on your build and the challenge was better on V hard.
Pirate_101
Very hard for sure, to experience a real cyberpunk challenges

Normal first, then hard, now playing very harm

Just go normal. On your second playthrough switch to hard.
doskkyh
First and second were on very hard, but on my latest I dialed it down to normal and then up to hard after it was getting too easy after doings every gig and ncpd stuff.
Very hard is not that enjoyable on Cyberpunk. Bullet sponges are very frustrating and hope they do something like Fallout 4’s survival difficulty in the future games. Easy to die but somewhat easy to kill. Of course two shoting the likes of Smasher doesn’t make sense, but having to shoot an entire mag to kill a random gangoon that barely has chrome is not fun.

Ezy i also rushed through the entire Main story That’s what I do with story games though.

Played through on hard in my first playthrough and it got really easy so next playthrough going very hard.

Went nightmare straight out the gate. I love it when games force you to use ALL your items and boosts and actually plot out perks well. I spent HOURS in Watson replaying the same gig and getting squanched. I finally reached a point where I felt like I had a handle on combat, but it took a full blade perk, militech falcon sandy, and the maxtac mantis blades. I felt like that’s more lore accurate too. I find that the food perks and minor passive traits are more important at these higher difficulties
