So I can't say for sure where the fire happend, looks to be the fans shorted out.
Power supply is untouched, but new case and my trusty 2080ti and new 7950x build cpu motherboard and so on might be dead.
Power supply is the cleanest part in the pc. So definitely think it was a fan or something else.
Left my pc to cook dinner thought I brunt something in the oven until I walked back to my pc room and couldn't see anything lol.

You just gave me anxiety: I just finished a new built and it’s downloading my games, so I’m leaving it on for this night. Now I have second thoughts.

So just because the power supply looks untouched does not mean it’s fine and could be the cause of this fire. A good psu should trip if a short is detected, yours might not have by the looks of it. If it was the fan, reach out to corsair, as they might be able to sort the problem for ya. what psu do you have out of curiosity?

Man, that is horrible! I thought my luck was bad with my PSU exploding but I’m very thankful it didn’t cause any fire.
First off, i hope every one is ok, second, I hope your house is ok. smoke damage lingers along time.. third, I’m no expert but the burn along the bottom of the case seems like the cables to the psu are at fault, if it were just the fans i dont think it would have burnt the bottom like that
If you can reuse the cpu it may not be bad but trust me a computer that has been on fire will always reek i had one we tried to salvage

You could soak it in Isopropyl and see what happens.
Might be able to salvage a little more out of it.

I’d assume it was a cheaped out and/or faulty psu. If I were you I’d figure out what actually caused it and see if the company will reimburse you for the pc build. Reputable manufacturers shouldn’t have an issue with it after they investigate it for themselves

Was there a corsair commander in it? Could’ve been wrong voltage to it

“latest build” suggests this might not be your first fire, and you might not be that good at building pcs.

So to update and share more info,
So the system was all corsair fans,
Power supply was a corsair hx1500i,
The fans were connected to a corsair commander pro.
All piping, fittings, and cpu water block were corsair.
I never put cheap fans or parts in my pcs I normally will save and buy the nicer name brand products.
The fault seems to lie in the power supply since it should have at the very least tripped a breaker. The power supply wall cables was normal room temp. And so on. My surge protector and all are fine. And still showing protected and never tripped.
I have contacted corsair to let them know.
It’s hard to say if the fire originated from the fans or the GPU and mother board cables right behind the radiator at said fans but the fans had the most damage out of anything in the case.
Pretty much any way I look a corsair product had a fault that may be a very very rare thing but like I said I’ve contacted them and maybe some clarification and solution can come of this.
I tested the GPU without water flow, since no pump, but it seems fried, it will out put but once it gets to windows it turns white and has rainbow dots.
I have some good friends and I have a new GPU I pick up tomorrow that he bought for me, so I’m not down and out yet. But I’m defiantly bummed about my system.
A while back, I was working in a shitty mid 90’s mid/mini tower case that had the PSU suspended over the CPU that had to be lifted out most of the time, me being cocky and fed up with the case plugged in the FDD power connector without realizing that it was misconnected and had 5v or 12v on ground that smoked and melted the wires almost instantly!
I know cable management is the it thing to do today and I am guilty of it too, but it can cause stress on connectors if done to tight that can lead to shorts that can be catastrophic, yes good PSU’s have protection circuits, but not every event is triggerable (apples to bananas comparison, I had a APC surge protector almost firebomb the other room and both GFCI & breaker didn’t trip during this event!). But my money is on a freak fault in the third fan in the chain.
