Not sure why this should be a surprise; its just a binned 14900K. If we want to get very technical, the 7950X3D should be #1 today with the latest chipset drivers.

The 14900ks is a beast at some professional tasks, especially those relying on single threaded performance.
I wouldn’t buy one for gaming, personally.

If you use a binned chip that’s meant for XOC stock you’ll get bad results.
This chip is for running Hynix A die at 8200+ MT/s. With a fully tuned cpu and ram timings.
Intel can go further with OC than X3D can.
Look at my cpu. This isn’t shilling, this is just truth.

Trucks are also slower than sport cars in racing and consumes more fuel. Try using it for moving furniture tho..
They are using ddr5 at 6000Mhz. With higher mem speeds intel beats amd easily

People don’t understand that this is NOT a gaming chip. This is for extreme overclockers or enthusiasts. The KS CPUs are NOT going to be for the main consumer. Cmon people start thinking.

Nice, a CPU that also works as a space heater.

The 7800x3d is better than the 7950x3d? What?
Shiro_Kuroh2
My complaints with AMD on the 7000 single CCX are mainly boot time, memory manager and platform its built upon, I know that means a motherboard manufacturer, but after losing 2-3 hours 5-6 times over with PBO settings and backups made over three different manufacturers boards… I’m really upset with the boot to move forward. I’d almost rather have the fast bootups and bios stability over the AMD product. I’ve been an AMD shill since my k62 400 mhz in in1998. Overall I still prefer the 7800x3d, but when you add on content creation and stability, the AMD product in its current gen is like meeting people living in Nevada, Its a roll of the die if its a hello, a new friend or getting shot for reliability and stability overall.

I’m so confused why 8 cores is beating 12 cores(ryzen 9 5900x vs all of the ryzen’s above it on the last page)

An early contender for Gamers Nexus’ disappointment build for 2024. Ridiculous price, ridiculous power draw, ridiculous product.

For gaming, sure, not so much for professional tasks

Making such a big deal about 2c difference. Who gives a shit. This influencer and tech channel driven crap is a waste of everyone’s time.

Wheres the i9 13900ks in comparison?

The key word is RELATIVE. Meaning the performance relative to the power used. So no, its still #1 on pure performance
Factualx
Funny how this subreddit complains about Intel/Nvidia bias on sites such as userbenchmark, yet upvotes this type of stuff. The 7800x3d performs marginally better @ 1080P gaming , and is literally worse by 5%+ in every single other type of comparison. Workstation, gaming at 4k, etc. etc. And let’s not even get into the stability/optimization conversation.
There is a reason that all of the tech youtubers you guys fawn over always build Intel for their personal computers, despite talking about the superior value/performance of AMD chips in order to placate you.
