Isn’t it crazy that we actually have real Cyberpunk cities on this world right now we see this game as some kind of future but we are already living in it

cool, which city is that ? awesome pick for background music

Neon lights != cyberpunk. That’s like seeing an old steam train and saying omg they made steampunk a real thing.

Sadly it’s mostly Asian countries that have this aesthetic. NYC has parts but it’s so old that it’s hard to have that same vibe.

Yeah the genre of cyberpunk I becoming reality.

I wonder what it’s like for Gibson who wrote the sprawl series on a type writer and now seeing it all come to be.

We may be a long way from wintermute but not too far away from dixie

If you live in China, yes, absolutely. Most of their cities are very futuristic.

Except that city is more of a shithole than Night City…lmao you couldn’t pay me enough to live in China. NEVER visit again, that’s absolute.

Definitely a reason the character lore starting around 2013 isn’t nearly as jarring as some sci-fi lore can get with its anachronisms or wildly incorrect timelines. Certainly not anyone running around playing a sick guitar solo with a prosthesis, but if we’re much more than a decade away from that I’d be surprised.

Id fucking hate if the building neighboring mine just fucking glowed all night.

And the first brain chip implant. 🧠

  10. yeah, we live in a cyberpunk dystopia with none of the cool stuff except VR. we have megacorps, polution, cyberwarfare, police states, and more! :3

so fun living in this world…

Including the never-ending, omnipresent fucking advertisements.

I thought you meant a corporation running a city until i saw you were referring to aesthetics.

I was thinking  Pittsburgh is already run by a corporation, well two actually. Heinz and the University of Pittsburg doctors association. At least this is how is seemed to an outsider while i was working on location.

Gamer media literacy is so shit that they can consume a whole genre which explores capitalist exploitation and superficial glorification of individualism, and still find nostalgia in Asian cities cuz neon lights.

Looks cool. How’s it look in the daytime hours? How’s the sky? Yeaaaaaa I’ll stick with old ass NYC any day.

  15. dragvandiil

This is quite literally just a city at night lol

Was anyone else waiting to hear “TASTE THE LOVE!”

Living in any big city is a nightmare, let alone one lit up like a circus midway.

  18. Heylookaguy

I don’t care about the aesthetics as much as I do about the tech.

Cyberpunk != Neon. We have CyberPunk elements in our daily lives since the 80s. also those are probably one of the most rich areas of China, people living there probably have access to a much better infrastructure and life quality than those in remote areas, I mean I don’t see the low life aspect in these videos…

  20. Especially a city like Dubai that have heaps of homelessness and trash they hide outside the city lol

  21. Particular-Date2229

Until I can replace my arms with burning chainsaws, I think you’re full of shit.

  22. theshekelcollector

skyscrapers and neon lights don’t make “real cyberpunk cities”.

  23. No-Corner8464
