I like it, but my favorite definitely is Odyssey
It was pretty good! I honestly loved Odyssey too… At least up ’till it got too supernatural at the end.
But getting to meet the ultra-chad Alcibiades, as well as other greek historical (or psuedo-historical) figures was great!
It’s the opposite of a hot take, everyone knows Origins is a great game, that was never the issue

I loved it, as a game but not necessarily as an AC game. as an Egyptian I had low expectation about it being a convincing ancient Egyptian experience. but I really felt the vibes of the Egyptian countryside in it. it was amazing.
The amount of people saying odyssey is their favorite is concerning

Origins is definitely up there but the lack of sea combat kind of made it a smidge disappointing which is why odyssey is better.

Here’s an even better one, the combat in the older time period games is meant to be like that and wouldn’t fit the settings as they aren’t properly assassins (apart from bayek) and therefore is why stealth is of less priority

Not a hot take at all. AC2, AC4: Black Flag, AC Syndicate and AC Origins are the best imo. All really good settings and well executed.

Good location, good storyline, but I feel like some of the mechanics left a lot to be desired, which were honed in the following titles
maybe I should give it a 2nd chance? played a bit, but the character just didn’t grab me much. I also felt similar when first playing HZD, but now it’s a favorite
If valhalla wasnt too bad, unique premise, but suffers from ubisoft typical issues, bloating and grindy af

I was very hype when hearing about an open world Egyptian game and at the time I’m not sure if one existed… I remember seeing the leaks and was super pumped. So yes I agree this is my favorite assassin’s Creed game it felt massive roaming the desert and finding a new village or city and finally coming across the city of Alexandria whew
Man I was bummed to see people didn’t like Origins on release. I was glued to this game in a way that didn’t click since Black Flag.
I know the action-rpg element turned people off, but I thought it was really well done for what it was. I’ll go as far as to say it really work in some parts. The bounty hunters and arena being high point of the new combat mechanics.
Outside of that, it brought Egypt alive in a great way. The tombs and temples were a dream to explore. First game I ever gave a shit about photo mode. Then stuff like just wondering the desert and hallucinating while a meteor shower goes down over head…blew me the fuck away.
The story was pretty great too. Bayek and Aya are such boss characters and the hunt for the conspirators was a great way to implement the Assassin aspect. Not gonna lie, I choked up a little bit by the end, thinking it would be a happier ending, but still really pleased with how the Creed got started.
I’ll Stan this game with you OP. It deserves the praise.
My second favorite. 3 being my favorite which used to be a hot take. Don’t know if it is anymore.
