Get some of those “rollerblade style” wheels for the chair. I got some for mine and it’s a lot easier to roll and the carpet and doesn’t damage it either.
I got some of those because I found that the pile of the carpet was causing the clear plastic mat to move over time and it got really annoying.
Those fractal cases are so nice
that setup looks so clean
IKEA do (or used to anyway) low profile rugs. I think they were marketed as indoor or outdoor use. Really tight woven.
I use those as the chair roles on them perfectly fine, they can be taken outside and cleaned easily.
Also helps for some soundproofing in my case as it’s an upstairs room.
