This is my first time ever attempting to find help on Reddit I was messing around with my old i7 4770k and I found that most people can’t OC past 5ghz in most cases they’re lucky if they can get 4 ghz I was just wondering if these are good number for this cpu I have been testing it all day and it seems very stable in games like beam ng drive, r6, and rdr2 I will continue testing to see if I can get a higher clock speed thanks for all of your times (ignore that 70’s show in the background)

    1) Task manager is inaccurate as hell, bugs out from time to time. 100% unreliable source of clock speeds.

    2) You say it’s stable? Proof or it didn’t happen.

The numbers you’re claiming are borderline trolling, given you’re new to this.

You can literally see Core Temp telling you the chip is running at 3.9GHz. Task Manager is bugged out.

Use hwinfo64 if you don’t believe me.

A good quality 4770K will do 4.7GHz with liquid cooling, 5.2GHz with phase change, and 5.7GHz with liquid nitrogen.
