It’s totally fine, but can I ask why you’re bothering to reseal? You can just place the ihs on and close the socket. That way, you don’t have to worry about using too much glue and ruining your gains

You can also use a dab of super glue, will apply thinner then the RTV and will old just as well.

I think u need to use the high temp silicone used for engine gaskets. at least that what i used. the black one
