Workflow efficiency? Sure. Generative AI can aid in conceptualization. Hopefully they don’t replace concept artists outright.
Monetization growth? This is where I see the problem. It sounds like they’re going to use generative AI to make more “unique premium content” more quickly.

EA would do *anything* for “Monetization Growth”. Including kicking puppies and stealing a policeman’s hat, pooping in it, mailing it back to the policeman’s wife, then stealing it again… and when I say anything, I mean Eh-Nee-Thing-Guh.
Also, that’s such a corporate way of saying “make more money”.

In this day and age how is anybody even still buying EA Games. They’ve turned out crap for years, and now their company has become entirely toxic. Just stop buying their games and they will disappear.

Stop buying EA games. It’s the only way they will learn
It would be cool if the AI realized CEO bonuses should be minimized and live service games lose money
If they want to save money, replace the CEO with AI. You’ll say 20 million in salary and stock/bonuses a year with that move and would probably net you better more profitable business decisions.

Cost Efficiency Officers (CEO’s) of today are not far off being replaced themselves by A.I.
There is a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholder and their bonuses, shares and salary are and now an obstacle to this responsibility.
And people will continue to buy their games anyway, because only a small fraction of people actually give a shit if games are drawn by someone vs generated by someone.
It was fun to resist for a while. At least we will get ai waifus out of it some day.
Don’t worry, consumers will still reward them by purchasing their shitty games, and then complain about it.

EA is such a business nowadays. Nothing they make is worth it at all.
I’m just gonna go ahead and draw a line in the sand, and state that I am 100% against the use of AI in creative fields. If AI can help advance medical science and so forth then I’m all for it, but for art, entertainment, etc- absolutely not.
And their games will be even shittier than now.
In other words your character skins that you buy will be made by A.i in couple minutes and sold for $20.
In other news EA will streamline my decisions to never buy their games.
That’s just corpo speak for “We don’t want to pay humans to do it because we’re cheap assholes”.
There has to be a point where gamers and people say enough is enough with ai. It should be used to help us save lives. Not make us more broke. Hate ai. It’s going to ruin a ton of shit.
